Holiday

Of course, when it comes to holiday decorating, the walls are my favorite to tackle. While I do love a good decoration, I've never been one to go traditional, so here are some of the ways we've added the Christmas spirit to our home.

Our two un-traditional Christmas trees. The first is how I'm displaying all of the beautiful cards we've been receiving from friends. The wooden peg tree is going to be in an upcoming shoot, so this is just a sneak peek at the project.

Changing up your art for the holidays is a great way to make a big impact, fairly inexpensively. We took down a piece of art to put up the wreath accent from Target and added the garland from CB2. Plus the bottle trees and tree truck from the Target Dollar Spot. I can't walk past that area without grabbing something. I think it's physically impossible.

The stockings are our beloved leather stockings made by the artists at Sticks. They have the best holiday items and I worked hard to save up for these stockings when I worked there when I first moved back to Des Moines.

And finally, I love to switch up a piece of art or two with something for the holidays. Super-talented artist, John Bosley, made these prints with Santa over Des Moines. It's the perfect, unexpected element on our art shelf.

We love all of these simple elements that have transformed our home for the holidays. Wishing you and yours a happy holiday season and a wonderful new year.
