Over the past few years I've had the pleasure of working with several different magazines as a stylist and contributor. This process has allowed for our business to grow and for me to scratch so many different creatives itches (so to speak.) Each new project has given me the chance to try new techniques, new styles, and new rooms that I want to live in.
One of my most recent projects went on stands today. I have two different stories in the magazine. The first about sun-print projects, and the second about 1 rug crafted several different ways.
Let me tell you something, every magazine I have worked with at Meredith works so hard to make sure that the projects can be created again by you at home. For the sun-print article I tried and test (and failed a few times) many different techniques. The ones in this article are techniques that create beautiful results.
We had the best time on that shoot. The next shoot about rugs ended up being some of my most favorite styling I've been able to try. That navy and white stripe wall with the navy door is such a stunner. I would do that in my house in a heartbeat. Sometimes, I think I have the exact right job or my poor husband would have to help repaint walls and try new styles weekly. Fortunately for him (and me) I get to style these shoots and work that out of my system.
So go pick up the MIY Spring/Summer issue on stands today to see how all of these projects were created. I love this magazine and team and it was so fun to work with them on these articles. Thanks, MIY!
