The gallery associate is responsible for opening and closing the gallery, working with clients, taking payment, keeping the gallery clean and neat, greeting visitors, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for visitors, assisting with installation, managing inventory (both digital and physical) and coordinating shipping of the artwork. This is an analytical role that lives in a creative environment. Experience with art is not required—that is easily learned. Each month hundreds of artworks are received and shipped out from the gallery. This position is for a self-starter that thrives on organization and check-lists to keep the gallery running like a well-oiled machine.
This salary position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9am - 4:30pm. There are limited weekend and evening hours. Compensation is based on experience. No health insurance benefits are offered at this time. Retirement plan match is offered.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google and Apple software and proficiency in Adobe Suite a plus.
- Comfortable greeting clients and answering the phone.
- Experience with handling art is NOT required—just an interest to learn about it.
- Retail experience is a plus, but not required.
- Artistic ability is a plus, but not required.
- Photography/photo editing experience is a plus, but certainly not expected.
- Need access to a car.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining day to day gallery functions which will include art installation and deinstallation, art handling and storage, painting and repairing walls and keeping track of artwork inventory.
- Manage art inventory on all internal systems (inventory database and website) and with third party vendors.
- Manage received artwork shipments (unpackage, place into digital and physical inventory, update necessary photos and details, add gallery branding).
- Manage outgoing artwork shipments (prep, wrap, package, deliver, coordinate shipping logistics with client).
- Initiate and execute sales by interacting with visitors and keeping an organized leads list.
- Assist with art advisory projects.
- Work closely with both clients and artists, treating both ethically and with respect.
- Keep gallery tidy, presentable and manage office duties.
- Manage and coordinate all the event details for gallery rentals.
- Assist with new client outreach via email and/or phone.
- Assist with social media and content creation.
- Appropriate other duties as assigned.
