If you blinked, here’s what you missed this week✨ We wrapped up our move, started installing the new show, unboxed and built a small city’s worth of furniture, dabbled in amateur electrician work, swooned over @akhardeman.art’s new release, and capped it all off with a visit from @bethanymabeeart! Oh—and sold 13 pieces in the middle of the madness. We’re officially open as of Wednesday and running on equal parts coffee and adrenaline!

What better way to wrap up the week?! We got to hang with @bethanymabeeart when she popped in to drop off THREE new pieces for our October 17th Neutrals show. She’s a Peoria-based abstract artist who’s bounced around Chicago and now paints from a peaceful studio haven where she plays with patterns, color, and process. Her new work goes live at 10 AM on the 17th—stay tuned for the full reveal! ✨🎨🩵

If you need me, I’ll be right here—lost in @akhardeman.art’s newest works. 💭 AK explores the way colors can be complementary, harmonizing, or adjacent. She creates the semblance of an object that then is left for interpretation by viewers form to spark emotion without ever forcing meaning. @akhardeman.art’s latest pieces drop online this Friday, October 10th @ 10 AM CST, starting at $500. Since 2019, I’ve been dreaming about what this space could become, and today it finally feels real. This milestone means so much to our team—we’re beyond excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to share it all with you. Leaving the @eastvillagedsm is definitely bittersweet, but we’re so ready (and grateful!) to call @theavenuesdsm home.

Today’s inspiration? What didn’t we do this week?! We’re still in full gallery mode—just with a side of moving chaos. This week we wore every hat imaginable: builder, packer, mover… all with our signature artistic flair, obviously. The moving saga continues, and the best part is just ahead—starting Monday, we finally begin moving ART into the new space! Stay tuned, because we cannot wait to show you what’s coming.

All the way from Easton, New York, @elisasheehanart is putting all her eggs in one ART basket 🧺🥚✨—painting on real ostrich eggshells and turning every “crack” into pure gold. She shares, “I think this is a great way to think about ourselves, others and our relationships as we age — not to try to look like our former, younger selves but to embrace our breaks and flaws, honor them, and see the beauty in them.” Her 6 egg-cellent new ostrich eggshell pieces drop at 10 AM CST—go get a crack at them! 🥚✨🎨

Storing your art the right way? Listen up! 🎨 Always group pieces by medium—keep oils with oils and acrylics with acrylics. Oil paintings especially can transfer onto other surfaces, so how you position them matters! When organizing, place works back-to-back and front-to-front. If you’re putting fronts together, always add a sheet of cardboard in between to prevent any rubbing or damage. A little care goes a long way in keeping your collection safe!
