Definitely not expecting a snowstorm the day we share @hayleykolar’s butterfly wings release, but it’s giving us a glimmer of much-wanted spring. Six new works on wood panel, Hayley is based in Minnesota and creates whimsical paintings of the up-close patterns on a butterfly’s wing. Each one is saturated with beautiful color. The collection is now available on the website!
🎨 We’re hiring! We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and art-loving Digital Content Coordinator to join our small but mighty gallery team. Reasons why we’re currently loving our walls:
A curious welcome as you walk in, unexpected structural moments, saturated portraits, stylish cowgirls, and some familiar faces.
No Saturday plans? You can stop on by today from 10-4 PM CST to enjoy our walls the same way we do. With our new show and @benschuh’s Iowa Artist feature, these walls won’t stay forever! ✨🎨
A series we haven’t had yet from @tessabrownart… and it’s one you won’t want to scroll past. These moody landscapes carry a quiet, atmospheric feeling.🌳✨
Based in Texas, Tessa works as an abstract painter drawing inspiration from the natural world—horizons, shifting clouds, and the subtle moods found in open landscapes. Working primarily in oil, this new collection features seven landscapes, each set within a vintage frame that adds an extra sense of timelessness to the work. 🎨🤩
Each piece begins with the word “Ever,” a small thread tying the series together—suggesting stillness, reflection, and those quiet moments in life that seem to stretch on just a little longer. The new series is now LIVE at 10 AM CST. ✨
A local Iowa duo, Karen Strohbeen and Bill Luchsinger have been creating art together since the 1970s. Long before digital printmaking became widely recognized, the two were already experimenting at the forefront of the medium—continually pushing what digital artwork can be. ✨🎨
Originally working with software that was once only used by the military, Karen and Bill developed a process that blends photography with digital manipulation to create their signature works. Much of their inspiration begins right at home, drawn from the beauty of their garden and the surrounding 80-acre farm. Featured on the PBS program ‘The Perennial Gardener with Karen Strohbeen’.
More than creative collaborators, they’re an incredibly warm and devoted team. We recently had the joy of sharing lunch with them at their home and studio, where they generously walked us through their process from first inspiration to final piece. Getting a glimpse into both their creative world and their life together was truly something special. 🌿
A designer’s camera roll as of lately 🤍 Hannah has been deep in the final details and fine-tuning phase across multiple ongoing projects — selecting materials, reviewing samples, hopping between meetings, and making a hundred tiny decisions that eventually turn into something really beautiful.
From photos at a recent trade show to client meetings and stacks of material samples spread across the table, this is the behind-the-scenes that brings each space to life.
Design isn’t just the finished room — it’s the process, the people, and the details you almost don’t notice but absolutely feel. And lately? The camera roll is full of them ✨
Welcoming our new Iowa Artist of the Month, this month is @benschuh! ✨🎨 We’ve had the pleasure of working with Ben on multiple murals throughout Des Moines, and we’re thrilled to feature him on our Iowa Artist Wall this month. Based right here in Des Moines, Ben is known for capturing iconic local landscapes and cityscapes through bold, expressive paintings filled with vibrant color and gestural brushstrokes. His work feels energetic, instantly recognizable, and deeply rooted.
In 2023, Ben developed a deep appreciation for @blackwing pencils and small-batch inks. After diving into the brand’s rich history, he began incorporating them into his own artistic practice. The Blackwing 602—famously favored by John Steinbeck—inspired Ben’s now-rotating collection of 17 different pencils, all of which make appearances in his current works on view at the gallery. ✏️✨
We’re so excited to share Ben’s work with you this month. Stop by the gallery Monday–Saturday, 10–4 PM CST, or explore his collection on our website under the “Iowa Artist of the Month” tab! 🥳🎨
Pulled out some hidden gems from storage ✨🤭 Textures you want to reach out and touch, highly detailed subjects that pull you in, and geometric abstracts that are moody.
Each piece has its own personality, so every swipe feels like opening a new surprise. Works from @annabflickinger, @emksnyder, @hellochristinaflowers, @rebeccasternart, @shannoncoppage, @sarina.angell, and @banyanbridges is just what we needed on a Monday!🤩✨🎨
Stretched, pulled, twisted, and framed in wood… these vibrant works are easily one of our biggest “wait… HOW is that made?!” moments in the gallery. The dimension, the tension, the way the color folds and moves… it stops people in their tracks every time!!🤩🎨
@carriegillenstl is back with six new bold fabric + acrylic pieces that blur the line between painting and sculpture. Each one feels alive, graphic, playful, and perfectly composed all at once. Based in St. Louis and part of our gallery family since 2021, Carrie has sold out every single collection she’s released with us!🎉
If you’ve been waiting for the next drop… this is it. Now LIVE at 10 AM CST! They won’t be here for long✨🥳
Nine new wooden assemblages by @angelachrusciakiblehm hit the walls last Friday💙 What we adore most? The mix-and-match. Each piece carries her own bold personality. Style them together, split them up, let them play. There’s no wrong move.
Meet Rio, Samba, and Carnaval — a trio that might hint at tropical rhythm, but was actually inspired by the frosty layers outside. Cool tones, crisp shapes, and just enough sass. As Angela says, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, come sit by us.” These ladies will listen… and look pretty doing it. 💋✨💌
A little glimpse into slower mornings and warmer days ☀️ @katerinaspopova paints life as it’s lived… laundry piles, pups, sun-soaked corners and all. An award-winning oil painter known for her interiors and landscapes, she turns the everyday into the extraordinary (proof that even a laundry hamper is worth capturing).
Serene, slightly surreal, and beautifully real, her two new works feel like a deep exhale. Catch them on our website before they wander off. 🐾✨
Rounding up a striking group of cowgirls for our new Figural Show. 🐎✨ These geometric figures by @brittanyatkinsonart mark a refined evolution in her ongoing cowgirl series. Drawing inspiration from her home in Austin, Texas, Brittany explores individuality through distinct fashion, accessories, and makeup that allow each figure to hold her own identity and presence.
At its core, this series speaks to empowerment through personal expression. Strong, self-assured, and thoughtfully styled, these cowgirls invite us to consider how what we wear can reflect who we are! ✨🤍🎨
@akhardeman.art just dropped five fresh floral abstracts into the gallery this week… and they’re already flying off the walls, only two left! 🌸✨
A self-taught abstract artist based in Alabama, she draws inspiration from the energy and freedom of abstract expressionism. Her work is bold, layered, and unapologetically vibrant… florals reimagined through movement, emotion, and color.
Each piece becomes a visual diary, using rich oil pastels and expressive brushwork to translate feeling into form. If you’ve been craving color, this is your sign. 💐
Featured in Body Language, @taylorcoxart brings fifteen brand-new beachgoers to life… but not on canvas. On paint brushes. 🖌️✨
Yes, you read that right… each tiny hyper-realistic figure is rendered directly onto a sculptural mound of paint ontop of the bristles. What first sent her viral has now evolved into a refined, signature practice that blends precision, texture, and playful realism in the most unexpected format. 🎨✨
Based in Wisconsin, Taylor earned her BFA in Drawing & Painting from Kennesaw State University, and her work has since been exhibited and collected nationwide. These beachgoers won’t be sunbathing for long — see @taylorcoxart’s newest brushes before they swim on out. 🌊
Body Language, in stillness…every subject carries a different story. A different emotion. A completely different palette. And yet together, they speak the same universal language. 🗣️✨
For centuries, artists have returned to the human body as a point of connection as something we all recognize, something we all feel. In this show, each artist honors that tradition while bringing their own fresh perspective to the form.
It’s the kind of exhibition that makes you slow down… and maybe even smile in humor. Stop in today from 10–4 and experience this show in person 🤍🎨
Welcome to Body Language — a show featuring eight artists, eight perspectives, and countless interpretations of the human form. From humor to hyper-detail, beach scenes to cowgirls, and playful pop-inspired figurines, every wall tells a different story. Tune in as Liz shares a little history behind the human figure in art and what makes this theme so timeless. 🎨✨
This week’s LLGD Team Picks are in ✨ — and yes, they’re all under $1,000. Proof that personal style is very real around here… because not one of these picks looks alike:
🎨 Lauren’s pick: @thewallflowerworkshop’s “Candy” a vibrant, crisp-lined floral that wraps seamlessly from the front to the sides. She loves how the bold motifs carry all the way around.
🎨 Lily’s pick: @daisyfaithart’s “Skyfall” an abstract inspired by interiors. The layered color shifts and the play between positive and negative space make it feel architectural yet soft.
🎨 Hannah’s pick: @andreaaferrigno’s geometric rainbow, “Fugitive Figure.” The mat and frame do their thing, letting the pattern shine front and center.
🎨 Tina’s pick: @angelachrusciakiblehm’s “Fetish Green.” Shoes on a deep green ground with that signature feminine, playful energy.
Which one are you claiming? 👀 #art #artist #lizlidgettgallery #gallery #wall
New show splashing in this Friday… inspired by figural forms, this show had us so excited hanging each piece with its own personality!!✨From swimmers mid-dive to cowgirls, partygoers caught in their best moment, and wooden assemblages that piece the human body together — every turn is a new character study. 🤠🎉🏊♀️
It’s bodies in motion. Bodies in celebration. Bodies in bold, beautiful interpretation. Our walls have never looked more alive — and we can’t to show how every artist put their own spin on the human form. Friday can’t come soon enough!!🤩💛
78 artists from around the world… but Iowa? Holds its own. 🌽 ✨ As much as we love discovering artists globally, there’s something different about celebrating talent rooted right here in our home state. The Iowa Artist Wall was created to make space for the creatives building something meaningful in our own backyard. 🎨🩷
Supporting local artists isn’t just a trendy talking point for us… it’s who we are. It’s the conversations in the gallery. The studio visits. The connection and pride a client feels when hanging work from an Iowan artist.
This month’s Iowa Artist Feature is @ashleymaryart, bringing her vibrant, textured abstract pieces that celebrate color, organic form, and the “beautiful accent.” Her work radiates joy with layers that are expressive and unmistakably hers.
Iowa shows up. And we’re proud to show it off.✨🫶🏼
@bekahworleyco has a few pieces available from our Pattern Play show, and they’re just as joyful in person as they look here! ✨🎨 Drawing from folk-inspired forms, Bekah typically renders in fluid acrylic on found objects, wood panel, and canvas giving each piece a layered, sculptural feel.
The carved ducks, bold striping, punchy color pairings, and patterned frames feel like they’re part of the painting itself… it’s playful but intentional. Nostalgic but fresh. Her work has a magical way of mixing tradition with a modern edge—like heirloom craft meets colored confidence. 💛
If you’ve been eyeing one, this is your sign. Once they waddle out the door, they’re gone! 🦆✨

If @angelachrusciakiblehm had a seat at the table in The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestly would be calling immediately. Miranda’s art collection would be a no-brainer with Angela’s work front and center. High-gloss lips, lipstick, and legs that are confident, graphic, and just the right amount of glamorous. 🎨✨
Fun fact: her legs were actually the very first pieces ever sold here at the gallery. Inspired by the clothes we wear, our daily rituals, the comic side of sensuality, and the traditions of femininity… her work plays with power and polish in the best way.🦵🏼✨
Honestly? Angela being featured in Devil Wears Prada 2 feels less like a suggestion and more like a casting decision waiting to happen. 💄✨
Spending Valentine’s Day with @mrgiusti’s newest mini heart drop ❤️ Eleven fresh pieces, four featuring tiny hearts. The kind of gift that says “I love you”… and also “I have really good taste.” ✨
Inspired by Kline and Kakinuma, @mrgiusti leans into a bold kind of simplicity that feels effortless but intentional. These acrylic-on-canvas works are strong enough to stand alone and even better when styled in a little cluster. The paint drips add subtle dimensional, it’s almost graffiti-like… clean lines, but never boring!🎨🤩
You’ll spot recurring motifs throughout his new series: hearts, orchids, allium, and Hebi (Ron’s Japanese zodiac sign). Small in scale, yet big in presence. 💌

@karinolah’s new release includes fifteen pieces that feel like the golden end-of-day glow and the soft in-between moments when the sky is really showing off. ☀️✨ Total mood boost. No SPF needed!!
With her background in fashion design in NYC (and a fabric stash we’re jealous of), Karin naturally brings layers of texture, color, and depth into her work. You can see the textiles throughout her works from farmscapes to abstract expressionist pieces… each piece is tailored but still dreamy!🌅✨
All fifteen pieces go live at 10 AM CST starting at $160. If your walls have been asking for a little sunshine, this might be it. 🤍🎨
A week of boxes… on boxes… on BOXES. 📦📦📦 We’re not kidding… it’s been a full-on cardboard maze back here. At one point we considered building a fort and just living back here!⛺️✨
New work coming at you for next week’s Figural Form show featuring eight artists across six states and internationally. We’ve been unboxing new works from @mrgiusti, @angelachrusciakiblehm, @rockyreedart, @taylorcoxart, and more! Sneak peeks coming soon… just wait until you see what was inside. 👀✨

Some recent art installs we’ve handled in-home and a few sweet photos sent our way. 🖼️✨ Whether you’ve purchased a piece from us or just need a full art-hanging redo, we’ve got you covered (priced per piece when hired). We love seeing our artists’ work find its way into every corner of your home because sometimes your space just needs that one piece… or a few. And honestly? We’re always happy to help make that happen! 🎨🤩✨
Live footage from our front window of all the ‘we should stop in sometime’ moments as you walk by 👀✨ Just a casual pause, a peek, excitement at all the color… we see it all. One day we hope you actually come on in. We’ll be right here doors wide open, walls full of art, patiently (but excitedly) waiting for the ‘someday’ to become today! 🎨🤩💕
Some artists whose work will be increasing in 2026 ✨ While it’s very common for many of our artists’ prices to grow over time (as they should!), we wanted to highlight a handful whose work will be seeing an increase this coming year. These adjustments reflect continued growth, demand, and the evolution we’ve watched unfold in their practices!!🤩🩷
In 2026, you’ll see price increases from @huntslonem, @brittanyatkinsonart, @jenniferallevato, @joykinna, @shannoncoppage, and @jenna_brownlee. You can read more in our most recent blog post on our website!😊🎨

We pulled these pieces thinking they’d have their own moment… then we couldn’t separate them. The textures, shapes, and playful forms in works by @huntslonem, @angieqcoates, @michellearmas007, and @amanda_mclaurin_ just click… each one letting the next shine a little brighter. And @ashleymaryart’s joyful color + texture in the background? Instant smile. ✨🎨
Even Lily couldn’t resist hopping 🐰in and matching the colors perfectly. Some pairings are just meant to be. 💙
Some artists’ color palettes we’ve been drawn to lately. Light, fresh, a little hopeful… they’ve been giving us subtle spring energy without trying too hard. ✨🌸
From textured works to photography, and from wood to aluminum, these pieces keep pulling us in because of their color stories. @anna__michele__, @faresmicuephotography, @katemblomquist, @brittanysmithstudio, and @emily_furr are playing with blues, peach, butter yellow, deep purples, layered greens, and hits of rich orange in a way that feels intentional and balanced. Each color makes the next pop… a constant, thoughtful conversation in color. 🌈🤩✨
This is your sign to trust the double-take. @paigeledomstudio makes the kind of work that tricks your eyes (in the best way). From afar, you swear it’s a realism painting. Up close? A beautifully chaotic mix of cut paint samples, stationery, cardboard, aluminum foil, photographs — basically a masterclass in “materials gone rogue.” ✂️✨
Every cut, shadow, and layer reveals something new, so yes… you’re supposed to come back for a second look. And a third. We don’t make the rules. You can view Paige’s available pieces on our website underneath the ‘Artist’ tab!🤩✂️

Who knew little red dots could mean so much? 🔴 One of our favorite parts of being a gallery is making the rounds, marking each piece, and watching creativity continue to thrive. Seeing collectors show up for our artists is what makes this little creative community possible—and keeps the magic going. ✨🪄
A final wave to these beautiful works by @sarahjaclynschwartz, @kevin.brent.morris, @vickyreddish, @theodoramillerfineart, @nnnnnate, @bekahworleyco, and @thewallflowerworkshop 🤍
You can explore what each of these artists still has available under our Artist tab!

A few of Hannah’s favorite fabric brands to reach for: @schumacher1889, @kravet1918, and @leejofa. Although not a paid advertisement, she genuinely gravitates toward these brands because they consistently deliver exactly what she’s looking for in color, pattern, and material quality. ✨🏠
While pulling for three separate clients, she noticed how closely the schemes aligned, all landing right in an early spring mood-board. Two residential projects and one commercial space, all tied together by a timeless combination of blues and greens… classic hues that feel fresh, grounded, and will never go out of style. The magic is in the mix: layering patterns, playing with scale, and blending subtle shade and tint variations. These collections make it effortless to intermix fabric samples and build spaces that feel intentional, cohesive, and beautifully lived-in. 🌱💙✨
Four proposals, four selections, and four Midwest businesses were matched with beautiful new artwork last month!🎨✨@katiecraigart, @rockyreedart, @alexandra.ackerman, @jimmynavarroart, @aghartpainting, @bethanymabeeart, @amanda_mclaurin_ your work has officially found new homes and will get to brighten a lot of everyday moments.
We partner with corporations to find the perfect pieces for their spaces, curate collections, commission custom work, handle art gifting for teams and clients, and guide selection through installation. Meet our Iowa Artist of the Month: @ashleymaryart ✨ She shares a home between two spaces—Minneapolis and here in Des Moines. We’ve known Ashley for years so we’re thrilled to see her family and art practice expand even closer to us! A multi-disciplinary artist, designer, and muralist with eighteen years of experience, her work is playful, textured, and rooted in childlike expression. She loves letting the unexpected lead, believing the best parts happen when you control less and trust the process. Her work is a visual reminder to live that way, too.
She’s partnered with @apple, @google, @starbucks, @target, and many more nationally recognized brands. Explore her sixteen new pieces under the ‘Iowa Artist of the Month’ tab on our website! 🌈🤍🎨
@hayleykolar’s butterflies didn’t just arrive… they fluttered in and immediately made themselves at home 🦋 Fresh out of the packaging and straight into our hands (and hearts) for a full-on butterfly play date. We’ve been up close and personal, swooning over every wing, every brushstroke, every layer.
These four new arrivals aren’t just pretty flyers… Hayley’s butterflies are an emphasis to resilience, hope, and connection. You can see the process and history in each piece. Proof that beauty is built layer by layer… and sometimes arrives with wings!! You can check out these beauties on our website! 🦋✨🤩
One of our favorite moments from Pattern Play? This pairing.🤩🪞✨ @theodoramillerfineart’s Shadow Dancing wallpaper in Whisper creates the most subtle, calming foundation… soft, tonal, and full of texture. Then we layered in @nnnnnate’s squiggle mirrors and suddenly the room came alive. The playful curves, the sculptural shapes, the unexpected contrast, it feels modern, a little mischievous, and very not boring. Proof that a quiet wall and a bold mirror can absolutely be best friends!! See @nnnnnate’s new mirrors on our website in blue and orange!! ✨
Blooming at 10 AM CST 🌿 @naybellamy_art’s latest release arrived from the UK, blending the romance of classic botanical art with a modern, thoughtful hand. Drawn to antiques and timeworn beauty, Nay chooses vintage wooden frames as her canvas each one restored, repurposed, and ready for a new life.
Five new acrylic and oil works painted with milk poppies, dogwood blossoms, green hellebore, golden irises, and white geraniums. Starting at $595, this series feels like spring preserved… proof that florals are meant to be savored, no matter the season! ✨💐
For those who reach for bold over delicate, this one’s for you!🌸 @jenna_brownlee’s Iowa Artist Feature is here through the end of January, and honestly? It’s been our little burst of sunshine during these cold, gloomy days. Her work is a fearless play on color, scale, and floral form—confident florals that feel joyful, unapologetic, and full of life. If winter has you craving something vibrant, Jenna’s series is a reminder that color always finds its way back. You can explore her full collection on our website under Iowa Artist of the Month! ✨🌺
@loganledfordart’s newest release is officially LIVE—game, set, MATCH! And we love (yes, fully intended 🎾) how this series played out. You’ll still spot Logan’s signature textural circle work, now rallying in a tennis-inspired collection that truly serves.
Inspired by iconic courts around the globe from Tennis Courts by @nickpachells, each piece is a little love letter to the sport. As a tennis fan herself, Liz has had visiting these courts on her bucket list after taking a trip to the Tennis Olympics a couple of years ago!
From NYC’s Central Park Courts to the legendary @wimbledon Final 2008, to the Lotte Hotel Jeju in South Korea—and so many more. This collection features ten paintings and two sculptures starting at $625… nothing short of a grand slam. 💥🎾

@ettavee is a Midwest-born artist now calling France home, known for bold patterns, playful energy, and the kind of optimistic color palettes that instantly lift your mood. Jessi’s global lifestyle brand is all about inviting more vibrancy into everyday life—and it shows in everything she creates.
From art prints and fabric patterns to colorful phone cases, beach towels, and stationery cards, her work brings joy far beyond the just a canvas. What started in a tiny Parisian apartment back in 2013 has grown into the beloved brand EttaVee, featured in @essence, @goodmorningamerica, @apartmenttherapy, and more.
Jessi’s collection here at the gallery is a true reflection of what EttaVee stands for: color, creativity, and living boldly—every single day. ✨🎨
Hey there! It’s been a minute since a gallery behind-the-scenes check-in 👀 We made a few fun upgrades lately starting with a coffee pot + the cutest stamped mugs after @andreaaferrigno asked if we had coffee (we do now ☕️). Hannah wrapped up an interior design meeting for a masculine home office (the blues were spot on), we officially added peel-and-stick wallpaper to our skill set thanks to @chasingpaper, and our upcoming Iowa Artist of the Month dropped off her stunning new series 🤩
Oh—and Insiders got some new perks 👀 more on that soon!
Welcome to Pattern Play ✨ these photos make our artists pieces truly come together, working as a team, and an inspiration to one another. Watching our artists pull inspiration from our recent collaboration with @chasingpaper and turn it into their own creative flair has been nothing short of magic.
This show is all about celebrating design, bold pattern mixing, and color theory in a way that feels fresh but still deeply personal. Think of it as walking through a living mood board—layered, playful, and full of ideas to spark your own interiors and art at home.
Stop in today from 10–4 PM CST and experience it for yourself 💛
✨ Pattern Play is officially LIVE today at 10 AM CST ✨
This show feels extra special to us. It all started with our wallpaper designs that launched back in the fall, and from there we invited seven incredible artists to do what they do best—interpret, adapt, and create from those colors, patterns, and textures in their own artistic flair.
What I love most about Pattern Play is watching inspiration move from one artist to another. Seeing how @bekahworleyco, @aneeshahstudio, @thewallflowerworkshop, @kristen.abbott.art, @paige.barnes.dorsey, @kevin.brent.morris, @banyanbridges, and @theodoramillerfineart’s wallpapers fit perfectly with the chosen artists. It feels less like individual pieces on a wall and more like a group conversation… a team coming together to build something beautiful, layered, and full of personality.
This show celebrates collaboration, curiosity, and letting design guide the process rather than confine it. We can’t wait for you to step into the space, take it all in, and experience how color and pattern truly come alive together !🤍🎨
This is one you don’t want to miss 🤍 A show meant to be experienced and wandered-in while feeling inspired, curious, and a sense of wonder. After collaborating with @chasingpaper, we invited seven of our artists to create work inspired by these wallpaper designs. The result? A space that truly comes alive and celebrates the power of pattern play in interior design. More details coming tomorrow to you tomorrow!✨
I sat down with @thewallflowerworkshop last week for our Insider’s to talk more about her work in our new show, Pattern Play. Bringing together our collaboration with @chasingpaper and seven incredible artists, the show feels layered, lived-in, and full of creative energy. It’s an approach to viewing art that feels honest, playful, and true.
@aneeshahstudio’s landscapes invite you to slow down, sit for a moment, and remember what the quiet life feels like. Contemporary with a touch of nostalgia, each piece reflects Anee’s inner world through thoughtful color chemistry and a longing to recapture a feeling once lost. Explore all of Anee’s available works on our website, plus her wallpaper featured in this Friday’s show! ✨🖼️
Two new plates landed at the gallery last week and honestly… they felt like a little dose of sunshine we all needed ☀️
@jenniferallevato’s newest pieces are framed in gold for extra warmth and glow, wrapping her beautifully detailed, chinoiserie-inspired plates in something that feels both classic and fresh. Each work is layered with acrylic, vinyl paint, and graphite… but even more so, they’re layered with intention, thoughtful design, and delicate brushstrokes you can’t stop looking at.
Based in Virginia, Jennifer creates post-impressionist inspired mixed media paintings influenced by culture and history, and these new works feel like little moments of color you get to live with every day. Trust us, your walls will thank you! See them now on our website!! ✨🎨🍽️
Such kind words from clients near and far 🤍 We truly love a morale boost here at the gallery, and you all bring it daily. Every stop-in, comment, and thoughtful note makes this small business smile more than you know. They say to stay out of the comment section… but we’re very happy living in ours! Thank you 😍
As the weekend hits, we figured it was the perfect excuse to sprinkle a little art into your feed to help brighten these cold winter days in Iowa. Nothing beats seeing a little color shine through from our feed to yours, especially when it feels like winter might last forever. Thanks for hanging out with us here, soaking it all in, and letting art be part of your everyday moments! ✨🤍
The artist vs. the art ✨Based in Chicago, @hapiart creates work that feels unmistakably her — bold, colorful, joyful, and full of personality. As Liz puts it: “Kristi’s work reflects everything we stand for at the gallery: color, individuality, joy… and (a perk), GLITTER.”
Her newest release features eight mixed-media pieces starting at $745, each layered with shimmering cut-glass glitter. A thoughtful study of color, texture, and restraint, these works shift and catch the light as you move around them, creating something dynamic yet refined. Proof that playful materials can still feel elevated! Her new series is LIVE at 10 AM CST today!!🎉🎨🌈
Here are some of the frame styles you’ll spot around the gallery—float frames, vintage finds, acrylic boxes, and all different kinds of matting. Frames aren’t just the finishing touch, they’re apart of the art itself. The right one can completely change the vibe: laid-back or polished, bold or subtle. A good frame pulls you in and gives the artwork space to breathe, blurring the line between art and object. And this is just the beginning… more framing styles and favorites coming soon!✨
A small refresh can make a big impact. In her most recent project, Hannah worked closely with a client to reimagine two bedrooms and a shared bathroom, thoughtfully building a cohesive color story that honored the furniture they already loved. By layering fresh paint selections with carefully chosen artwork, each space was brought to life in a way that feels both intentional and lived-in. From initial design direction to final installation, every detail was planned and executed side by side with the client resulting in spaces that feel personal, polished, and truly complete! ✨🎨
A familiar name and a beloved presence in Des Moines—please join us in welcoming Sarah Grant as our newest signed artist! Deeply rooted in central Iowa, Sarah’s creative path has always been shaped by the cultures of art, science, academia, and agriculture. As the founder of Sticks Object Art & Furniture, she managed hundreds of artists before returning full-time to her own practice in 2018. Sticks custom pieces and her individual fine artworks can be found in museums and corporate, private, and public collections worldwide. With gallery representation since the 1980’s Sarah’s impact is undeniable—and we’re excited to share her work with our community. Welcome Sarah!! ✨🎨
Based in Vancouver, Canada, abstract artist @joykinna draws from a lifelong connection to the ocean, wonder, and creative exploration. After the welcoming her first child, her practice evolved from a “side job” into a full-time career. Her guiding advice remains simple yet powerful: “take the risk when your gut says YES.” These works embody Joy’s essence—grounded and gentle, yet ethereal, unfolding stories through texture and brushstrokes.
Being surrounded by art all day does something to you. As a gallery, we clock out and somehow end up right back in creative mode at home. ✨
Beyond these four walls, our team has been busy making, experimenting, and getting their hands a little messy. From glass blowing to painting, jewelry making to murals, each of us has been channeling the energy, curiosity, and courage we see in our artists every day. It’s a reminder that creativity is contagious and when you live and breathe art, it doesn’t stay at work. 🎨🙌
A recent art loan to @westwoodhouseofdesign that brought the perfect finishing touch to an already stunning space. We love when art steps off the wall and into everyday life. Letting art not just to be admired, but truly lived with. This collaboration was such a joy, and we’re always grateful to work alongside local designers. Big thanks to Lauren for working with us for the ✨final touch✨.
@betsyenzensberger’s new release contains seven one-of-a-kind, hand-sculpted glass pops with marble. When we say one-of-a-kind, we mean never to be recreated again featured in blue, pink, and a purple sparkly stripe 🍭💎
What makes these extra special? This series came straight out of Betsy’s material experimentation. She originally planned to heat the glass and use molds… but after some trial and error, she ended up hand-sculpting every single block of glass between the marble layers. Yes. By hand. We’re still in awe over here!!
As Betsy transitions from resin to safer chemical compounds, this work marks an exciting turning point and she’s already teasing that the next series will be even more spectacular. Shop the full series LIVE at 10 AM CST on our website. Don’t blink, you might miss it!✨
Looking ahead to 2026, our Director of Interior Design, Hannah, is calling in a shift toward spaces that feel layered, intentional, and deeply personal. Her five predicted trends? More confidence in pattern mixing, richer color palettes, thoughtfully curated antiques, homes that prioritize emotion over perfection, and a continued commitment to sustainability through supporting local makers.
“As a small business, it’s so important to support other small businesses around the Des Moines area,” Hannah shares. “They’re often creating the most unique, well-crafted pieces—far from anything mass-produced.”
These trends celebrate homes that feel meaningful and personal! Planning a refresh in 2026? Head to our website to find the design package that fits your home and lifestyle. ✨🏡

As a mixed media painter living in Boulder, CO, @kristen.abbott.art builds quiet stories through texture, layering, and time. Her work carries a sense of history—moments gathered, pressed, and remembered rather than rushed. ✨🌱
Using the historical cyanotype printing process, Kristen places leaves and found objects from around her home onto silk. Exposed to light and then washed with water, each piece slowly reveals delicate, organic patterns—no two ever the same.
In a world that feels endlessly loud, Kristen creates work meant to feel like a pause. A deep breath. Her pieces don’t compete for attention; they gently invite you to slow down, to notice the beauty, depth, and quiet interest found in stillness. 🌳🪴✨
Welcoming our new Iowa Artist of the Month 🌼✨ @jenna_brownlee!
Based in Des Moines, @jenna_brownlee has been part of the gallery family since we opened in 2019. Known for her murals throughout Iowa, she transitioned from a decade-long career in graphic design to pursue painting full time. That foundation still shows in her work through thoughtful composition, balance, and color.
Jenna is drawn to flowers for their layered forms, rich textures, and symbolism of growth, resilience, and positivity. Though her paintings often appear photographic at first glance, each piece is built through an intuitive process using acrylic on canvas. Jenna studied multiple mediums at the Des Moines Art Center, later earning her BFA at the University of Iowa, ultimately finding her voice in bold, vibrant color stories that feel both precise and alive.
Explore Jenna’s newest works under our “Iowa Artist of the Month” tab on the website! 🌸
Lauren, a small-town Illinois native, found these pieces by @ytterbergstudio something that feels like home away from home!🤍
@ytterbergstudio is a hard-edge color block painter based in St. Louis, Missouri. Her practice is rooted in rural landscapes and the way people hold memory through places. She’s also a boy mom who’s VERY productive during nap time, often painting then.💪🏼🎨
Liz was first introduced to Aly’s work through a Midwest Living Magazine feature that included one of her pieces. That introduction grew into a working relationship, and Aly has been part of the gallery since 2023!!
Most days, Aly is at home with her boys, balancing motherhood and artistry. Her balance shows up in the artwork: structured, thoughtful, and quietly emotional. ✨😍
This week’s team top picks works on paper edition ✨ From original photographs layered with painting, to one-of-a-kind works on paper and thoughtfully produced prints, these editions are something special! There’s something so unique about paper: it feels intimate, immediate, and incredibly personal to the artist’s process.
What we love most? Works on paper tend to be more approachable and affordable, they offer so much flexibility in how they’re framed or displayed, and they’re easy to store or rotate as your space evolves. Most importantly, they’re a beautiful way to support artists while honoring a different side of their creativity — one that feels raw, experimental, and deeply intentional.
A few of the little things that make us happy every single day at the gallery 🤍Watching people slow down and actually spend time with the work. Building relationships and collaborating with artists we truly believe in. Feeling the good energy move through the space—curiosity, connection, conversation. It’s more than just art on the walls; it’s the moments, the people, and the feeling that makes this place what it is!! ✨🩷🎨
From Virginia to the sea, @hellochristinaflowers transforms dreams into color and form. Her Nautical Flags Re-Imagined series draws inspiration from the language of maritime flags—not their literal designs, but their deeper purpose: communication. 🌊🚢✨
Rooted in the International Code of Signals, where each flag represents a letter and combinations convey meaning, these works carry that same spirit forward. Each piece becomes its own message, telling a story through color, shape, and rhythm. Continuing a long tradition of visual storytelling through art. ⚓️🦀✨
Layering art beyond the frame ✨ Styling our new @chasingpaper wallpapers alongside works by some of our artists, with our interior designer Hannah. She helps clients thoughtfully integrate wallpaper into their spaces—offering estimates, design recommendations, and even incorporating our very own wallpaper line to create rooms that feel intentional, lived-in, and uniquely personal.
“What I love about wallpaper is how instantly it transforms a space—from walls and ceilings to the backs of bookcases. Its texture catches and reflects light in a way flat surfaces never could.” - Hannah Jacobus
Merry Christmas from all of us at LLGD 🤍 As this year comes to a close, we can’t help but reflect on how grateful we are for this community—artists, collectors, friends, and everyone who walks through our doors and makes this space feel like home. Thank you for showing up, supporting creativity, and believing in what we do. Wishing you a season filled with warmth, beauty, and art that brings you joy. Happy Holidays ✨
Our holiday hours have changed as we celebrate the holiday season with family and friends. The gallery will be closed December 24th through January 3rd, but we’re never too far away. Our website will be open all week long, so you can continue exploring and shopping all available artwork whenever you need a little extra joy! 🤩 🎄
Where unpredictability and control meet in quiet harmony—on both canvas and paper. @loganledfordart is a New Orleans–based two-dimensional artist whose work lives in the tension between structure and spontaneity. Carefully balanced within grid-like compositions, Ledford’s textural circular forms feel both intentional and organic, creating a rhythmic visual language that draws you in the longer you look.🎨✨
Each piece plays with repetition, depth, and subtle variation, allowing color and texture to build a story rather than shout it. The result is work that feels grounded yet dynamic. Calm at first glance, but layered with movement and difference. Her pieces bring an elevated sense of warmth and interest to a space, adding just the right amount of texture and a thoughtfully curated color palette that effortlessly complements any room. ✨🔵
You might not live a quiet, serene life… but your walls can! 🪴🌅✨ Wide open land, winding rivers, soft sunsets, and the kind of stillness that invites you to slow down. Calm. Grounded. Present. Even when life keeps moving, @aneeshahstudio’s landscapes remind us that stillness is always within reach.
Once a scientist in the corporate world, @aneeshahstudio stepped away from a decade-long career to follow her creative calling. Inspired by the beauty of an unhurried life and the peace found in expansive, abundant fields, her work is rooted in simplicity, reflection, and the quiet moments we so often overlook.
Everyone say hello to Little Miss Sunshine, Louie, and Mick ✨ A trio with big personality and even bigger charm. From their expressions to their playful presence, they’re here to bring a little happiness straight from their faces to yours. Three faces that somehow feel like instant friends 🥹✨
Created by @suzy.lindow, a self-taught painter and collage artist with a serious love for quirk (and yes… COLOR!). She names each piece purely on feeling — inspired by the vibe, the place she imagines the face belonging, or sometimes simply a name she loves that perfectly matches the personality of the painting.
We have been honored to represent @huntslonem since the gallery opened in 2019. Over the years, we’ve watched continued growth in both demand and value for his work, making it a strong and confident addition to any collection. With upcoming price increases in the new year, now is an especially meaningful moment to collect a Hunt Slonem piece. Check out our website for a special holiday treat! 🎁✨🎄
@huntslonem is a nationally recognized artist whose work is collected by some of the most notable names in culture including @krisjenner, @jimmyfallon, @madonna, and many more. His signature compositions—exotic forms brought to life through expressive, highly textural brushstrokes—are rich with movement and saturated color. Since 1977, Hunt Slonem has presented more than 350 exhibitions at renowned galleries and museums around the world.
Our 2025 numbers are in, and wow… what a year. 🤍
This year was truly one for the books—full of color, growth, and so many smiling moments. We welcomed more artists, sold more art, added new team members, and connected with even more art lovers along the way.
A few highlights we’re still pinching ourselves over:
✨ 92.5% of our inventory sold (from what came in to what went out!)
✨ 1 brand-new space
✨ Shipped to 7 countries (hello, Saudi Arabia!) and 42 states (Alaska + Vermont… you’re next 👀)
✨318 holes in the wall (and patched 😉)
✨42 online releases
✨ 78 artists 👩🎨
None of this happens without you. We’re endlessly grateful for every share, visit, purchase, conversation, and ounce of support you give—especially for our artists and creatives here in the Midwest.
Here’s to more art, more connection, and even bigger dreams in the new year. Cheers to 2026 ✨🎉
No matter the season, these pieces by @jenna_brownlee never fail to draw us in. We get so many questions about this installation, and for good reasoning. These stunning floral realism paintings are all from past sold works that still stop people in their tracks. There’s something so special about seeing art that has already found its homes continue to live on and inspire right here in the gallery.
Jenna is a Des Moines native and has been with us since the very beginning (literally since the day we opened our doors) and it means the world to us to watch her work resonate so deeply with our community. These florals feel like a little reminder of warmth, growth, and beauty, even when it’s freezing outside. 🌸❄️
1,333 pieces of art found new homes this year… and only 3 made their way back 🤍 This number still blows us away. We take so much pride in making art feel accessible and confidently collectible, especially for our online friends who can’t always walk through the gallery doors. From constantly filming, taking high-quality photos, and talking through every detail, our goal is to make you feel like you’re standing right here with us, falling in love with a piece in real time.
This stat isn’t just about returns—it’s about trust, connection, and helping you find art that truly feels like yours. And for that, we’re endlessly grateful. ✨
Hannah’s been working closely with a client to refresh their bedrooms, and you KNOW art was part of the plan. ✨😍 These stunning pieces by @meghanbustard and @tessabrownart were the perfect finishing touch, playing so beautifully with Hannah’s paint choices. What started as blank white walls is now a cozy, elevated space filled with colorful neutrals that just get one another. Proof that the right art really does change everything. 💫
Our most-clicked pieces from November are in… and honestly, you all have amazing taste. ❤️ Seeing which artworks you gravitated toward this month was such a joy, it feels like we get closer to you guys by seeing what you love!
A few of these beauties have already found their new homes (we miss them already!), but most are still here waiting to be scooped up. Scroll through, pick your favorites, and tell us which one you’d hang in your space — we love seeing what catches your eye just as much as you do!
Exploring the Edge is seriously making the gallery glow! 🌈✨Every wall is humming with color, sharp lines, raw textures, and sculptural elements that had us completely obsessed during install. From ink on raw canvas to bold acrylic lines, burlap-wrapped forms, and sculptures that push right past the “edge”… this show is such a thrill to walk through.
We’re also a proud stop on the Peppermint Trail with @theavenuesdsm today! 🍬 🎄Swing in from 10–4 PM, warm up, explore the new show, and make us part of your stroll down Ingersoll Avenue.
Come see the color in person — it’s even better up close. 🎨✨
Our new show called Exploring the Edge is now LIVE! Step into hard-edge abstractions featured from six of our artists: @amber_vittoria, @andreaaferrigno, @hellochristinaflowers, @angieqcoates, @shannoncoppage, and @loganledfordart. A show where each artist interpreted clean lines, crisp forms, and sophisticated palettes.
Putting up our new show today and wow… it’s a good one.🌈✨“Exploring the Edge” opens tomorrow at 10 AM CST, featuring six incredible artists we’re so lucky to work with: @amber_vittoria, @andreaaferrigno, @angieqcoates, @hellochristinaflowers, @shannoncoppage, and @loganledfordart.
Inspired by crisp boundaries and bold geometry, this collection is full of hard-edge abstractions. Each artist putting their own personality and style into the mix. Every piece feels like it balances the next one, truly an exhibition to brighten the gloomy winter days!! We can’t wait to share it with you up close tomorrow at 10 AM CST!!
We never want to drift out of your feed… or out of your life! Instagram loves to shuffle things around, so if you want to keep us close, tap the three dots up top and add us to your “favorites.” We love showing up for you, and we love when you show up for us. Here’s to staying connected.
xoxo,
The LLGD Team
Sooooo… we’ve been keeping a (good) secret and it’s taken everything in us not to spill it sooner 😭✨ We teamed up with @sarahjaclynschwartz, @vickyreddish, and @thewallflowerworkshop to turn their gorgeous artworks into actual scarves — yes, wearable art you can tie, twist, drape, or fling onto your bag. The team has been buzzing waiting to share these with you. Each scarf feels like a mini gallery moment you get to style your way. They’re officially LIVE on our website now! Limited quantities, so snag your favorite little masterpiece while it lasts. 💛🧣🎨
A few favorites we’ve been hoarding in the camera roll 📸✨ Every time I’m scrolling mindlessly and one of these pops up, it’s like a burst of joy to my day (and hopefully to your feed)! Truly—thank you for creating what you create, for sharing your magic, and for making our gallery (and our camera roll) so much happier. Keep doing what you do!!
Looking for meaningful client or employee gifts this holiday season? 🎄✨ We help businesses share art in a way that feels thoughtful, personal, and truly memorable — from original works to prints chosen just for your team! We can take care of everything: wrapping, branding, and even handwritten notes so each gift feels intentional and valued.
Our latest project? Framing, wrapping, and branding these beautiful originals by @alexandra.ackerman! Now headed off to a client to surprise their employees for the holidays🎁✨
This release?!! Absolutely stunning✨@jenniferallevato has been painting away in her dreamy, light-soaked Virginia studio, and you can feel every bit of it in her work. Her colorful, post-impressionist style makes you stop, stare, and take every detail in.
@jenniferallevato always says she finds “beauty, love, romance, memories, and dreams in those colors,” and honestly… us too! This new series features eight chinoiserie-inspired vases all with intricate landscape detailing. It all goes LIVE today at 10 AM CST!!✨🩵
Lauren’s Christmas list… aka: just art, obviously.
Here’s what she’s currently obsessed with: the way every color works with one another. Hot pinks and deep greens from @ettavee and @loganledfordart (a duo we didn’t know we needed), @emksnyder balancing soft blues with the perfect rust color, and @taelor.fisher giving full “holiday-at-home by the sewing machine” energy with her abstract, quilt-like work.
And let’s be real… no list is complete without a @paige.barnes.dorsey snake to top it off! Comment down below your favorite piece from Lauren’s 2025 Christmas List ! ⬇️🎁✨
Liz’s workspace is the complete opposite of “sterile office energy.” It’s cozy, layered, and soooo her. 🌈✨ Art is the secret ingredient—warmth, softness, and just enough personality to spark new ideas on the daily. We brought in @the.allisonjames’s Stash Maps and mixed in a few intentional layers because the magic isn’t just in hanging art… it’s in playing with it.
Lean a piece here, tuck a piece there, and suddenly the whole space feels lived-in and creatively alive. And of course we had to include a very exclusive piece from one of our most infamous youth artists—aka one of Liz’s kids. A true collector’s item if you ask us.✏️🎨
Captured Lily and Tina in their natural habitat yesterday celebrating the fact that we PAID 47 artists this month!! 🎉 The photo might not win any awards, but honestly… how could we not share this moment with you?!
From tiny treasures to big pieces, over 150 artworks found new homes in November. That’s THREE HUNDRED yards of ribbon Lily went through… which is 84 feet short of the height of the eiffel tower! 🎀📦 Thank you all for the love, the support, and for making this wild, joyful art life possible. 🩷
Welcoming our December Artist of the Month… @christinehilbert! ✨
Christine is a longtime friend of the gallery and a talented collaborator, you may have seen her work in the art installation at @prairie_meadows or in murals across Des Moines. Based in Winterset, she brings so much vibrancy and whimsy to every piece she creates.
We’re thrilled to feature 16 of her works this month, all available under the “Buy Art” tab on our website subtitled “Iowa Artist of the Month”.
Welcome, Christine! 🌟
A few beauties from @daisyfaithart — an artist whose work is deeply inspired by interior design and color stories. Based in North Carolina, Daisy first joined us as a guest artist creating animal art prints, and has since perfected her medium while exploring fresh, vibrant ways to express her creativity. Influenced by impressionism and the bold spirit of fauvism, she’s truly a creative through and through, with roots in film, art, and design. A fun fact: she paints exclusively on wood panels, so her pieces come ready to hang with no framing needed!
