JUST IN 🌊 By the Water, featuring nine artists who capture the feeling of summer—whether it’s the shimmer of sunlight on the ocean, a quiet lake at dusk, or abstract interpretations of coastal light. With a range of styles and mediums, the collection brings together soft blues, sandy neutrals, and the breezy calm that defines a day by the water. Altogether, it feels like ocean waves in art form.
Can’t give it all away just yet … but here’s a little peek at what’s coming tomorrow. The phone’s been ringing off the hook for these @taylorcoxart brushes, and new framed smalls by @karinolah are always a fan favorite. Do you spot that bit of @katiecraigart plaid in the corner? More pattern goodness from her drops tomorrow, too. This coastal collection goes live in the morning—come back Friday for a dose of *visual* sea breeze!
Work with a view 🖼️💫 We’re hiring a full-time Digital Content Coordinator to lead social media, content creation, client experience, analytics, and more. The gallery already has a strong online presence—now we’re looking for someone with the initiative and experience to take it to the next level. All the details are on our website!
It was bittersweet taking down the anniversary show. I loved having every artist displayed on the wall. But a new show is going up this week, and the summertime theme is making the transition easier—these works are warm, nostalgic and relaxed. Like laying-under-an-umbrella-on-the-beach kind of relaxed. Opening this Friday: new works from nine artists, including the piece pictured here by @jordanc.gallery, titled Saltwater Sugar Pop. ⛱️
If this doesn’t make you want to jump in the water, I don’t know what will. Our next group show features nine artists, each using colors, styles, and imagery that capture the essence of a summer day. @jordanc.gallery’s painted umbrellas, @katiecraigart’s preppy color combos, @taylorcoxart’s sculpted waves, @jaimemccarrierart’s stylish portraiture—plus so much more. This collection is arriving at just the right time, and it’s an invitation to bring summer into your home so it never has to leave. Opening next week, on Friday, June 13! 🏖️☀️💦
And we’re hiring (again)! We’re looking for a full-time Digital Content Coordinator to manage social media, content creation, analytics and more. The gallery already has a strong online presence and we’re looking for someone that has the initiative and experience to take us to the next level. Find all the job details on the website and help us spread the word (please and thank you). 🙏🏼
Allison first met many of these artists last May during our 5-year anniversary show—and her love for their work has only grown since. As @the.allisonjames is a true color lover, her *current* top ten includes @aghartpainting, @banyanbridges, @bekahworleyco, @jimmynavarroart and more. This is our favorite thing: artists supporting artists. #artgallery #artistssupportartists
A continuation of the Equinox series @hellochristinaflowers began for our May anniversary show, each piece is painted with acrylic and ink on raw canvas. The series explores themes of possibility and becoming. First trained as an architect, Christina brings thoughtful intention to every shape and color. She says, “Painting requires me to be completely present. My work reflects moments of total awareness—like diving into a cold wave or stepping into sunlight—capturing them to be shared and experienced again.”
We’ve always helped people find art they love. Now, we’re helping them design the rooms where those pieces live. Thoughtful design isn’t about perfection—it’s about creating a space that feels good. Our approach makes design accessible, affordable, and flexible for what you need. Want to learn more about how we combine art + design? Let’s chat! #artanddesign #artfulinteriors
We’re talking a lot about @the.allisonjames this week, and here’s why: she has an incredible eye for style, she’s said the sweetest things about her artist peers, and her own collection brings so much joy. Every detail—down to the titles of her works—is thoughtful and energetic. We’ve always been Team Allison. ✨📣
The prettiest arrangement, with @aneeshahstudio’s landscape as the shining star. As we continue to work with home stagers, realtors, and designers, it’s always a joy to see the final result. The furniture is placed, the greenery fluffed, and the art leveled—together, it sings a lovely song. 🖼️: Like a Miracle Brewing, Oil on canvas (framed), 24 x 36 in, available. #artfulinteriors
It’s the last call to take advantage of 10% off all art purchases—just through the end of today! Use code WEEKEND10 at checkout to save on any piece that’s been catching your eye (including this adorable pug by @trevormikula). Happy collecting, friends—and thank you, as always, for supporting artists and the work we love to share with you. 💛
Art-on-loan means we get to see these pieces “in the wild” and it’s fun to see how the art truly personalizes the space (as we knew it would). Designer @toledogeller reached out asking for art to place in her @mansioninmay curation—and it was an easy yes! Thank you for the invite, Jessica and team. It’s all so beautiful—every thoughtful design detail alongside the art. Photographer: @jacobsnavely
Our designer, Hannah, put together a beautiful vision for a curated space featuring this just-released painting by @brittanyatkinsonart—and what a dream. The artist gives each portrait a name, so here meet Azahea. Acrylic on canvas with a white floater frame, 31 x 25 in. Psst ... use code HELLODESIGN to get 10% off an interior design package in celebration of our launch month! #artanddesign #artfulinteriors
Tina and Lily here 👋 giving this wall some love at @desmoineslibrary! The gallery has facilitated over 150 murals in central Iowa—it’s a passion project we don’t talk about enough. With that experience under our belt … want to know three secrets about painting mural?
🎨 Secret #1: The wall is a canvas—but it needs prep! Before a single brushstroke, we spend time prepping the surface, whether it’s cleaning, priming or patching. If you skip it, the mural could peel or fade way too soon.
🖌️ Secret #2: The first sketch is not pretty. That beautiful final mural? It starts with a lot of sketching, taping and mapping. It’s messy looking, but you have to trust the process—it’s essential.
💡 Secret #3: Lighting changes everything. Whether it’s an exterior or interior mural matters, and when indoors—lighting affects how colors look. Cool lights can make warm tones look dull, and shadows can mess with details. So you need to plan the palette based on how the room is actually lit (and test paint colors accordingly).
🌿 Bonus Secret: We always go a little off-script. Even with a detailed plan, the final touches often adapt to the space—maybe a plant, a chair, or a window line shifts the composition. We tweak colors, angles, or shapes so the mural fits right now, not just on paper.
We’re always thinking of new, interesting ways to get art into your hands. Art turned digital (swipe right 👉🏼)! New images are available for your art TV. Partnering with eight gallery artists, we’ve just released a new collection—100 limited editions of each. It’s yet another way to collect and enjoy art in your home! Bonus points if you collect the original to hang nearby … #arttv #frametv
Formally introducing @thefive15, after her work’s debut in the anniversary show. 👋🏼 Originally from Mexico and now based in Canada, Angie Quintanilla Coates creates compositions that radiate joy and an unapologetic, relentless optimism using bold color and geometric forms. This is a nod to her Mexican roots, and an invitation for anyone who needs it, to get a dose of what she likes to call dopamina mexicana.
We believe every room tells a story. Enter Hannah, our new Director of Design! After a traumatic brain injury, @theodoramillerfineart found it healing—even necessary—to experience rest through creating. Her ever-evolving visual language and calligraphic designs are an authentic expression of her Greek identity, with the 7 Wishes series at the forefront. This signature style features the phrase “7 wishes” painted repeatedly on the canvas—the Greek words for hope, health, luck, love, happiness, joy, and peace. These are Theodora’s personal wishes for the world and for the homes of her collectors. 💫
Dinner by the sea? Yes, please. Debuting tomorrow, @theodoramillerfineart’s newest collection features her well-known 7 Wishes style along with a Mediterranean dining twist—ceramic and painted plates. Theodora’s creations are an authentic expression of her Greek identity, and you can feel it in this collection—they’re fresh and vibrant. 🍋🍒🐟
Ever wondered why galleries exist when you could just DM the artist? Here’s why:
✨ Curated quality: We represent artists whose work has been thoughtfully selected—ensuring that our clients are investing in exceptional, credible art. This saves you all the research time.
🖼️ Expert guidance: From framing to installation, there’s expertise you won’t get alone. We help you navigate style, value, and long-term significance. Galleries build collector-artist relationships and support your evolving taste over time.
📦 The team behind the artist: We invest time, energy, and resources into promoting our artists—through exhibitions, marketing and collector outreach. With the goal to support an artist’s long-term career, a gallery manages the logistics so the artist doesn’t have to—they can focus solely on creating.
We’re always happy to brag on our artists—they’re incredibly talented. And we’re grateful for the opportunity to champion their work. #artgallery #galleryowner
Wall-to-wall art—that’s what you’ll find here. Our latest show, celebrating our anniversary, features every artist we currently represent. About a third of the pieces have already found their forever homes (cue the team happy dance!), and we’re excited to keep sharing the rest—each one worthy of its own grand debut. Original art is an investment—an intentional choice to put your dollars toward an artist’s talent, small business and supporting career. And as your gallery, we’re here to help you find the next piece that feels just right. Hi! 👋🏼 #artgallery #artcollectors #collectart #investinart
It’s been six years, friends. I can’t believe it—but also, I can. This show is visual proof of our hard work over the years, featuring one piece by every artist we represent. That’s 70 artists and 70 pieces in total. I love seeing the full representation on the wall—it’s striking, meaningful, and, finally, motivating. If all this can happen in six years, what can happen in six more? And if you haven’t heard, this year also marks the introduction of our interior design services. Cheers to our artists, our clients, and six years of LLGD! #artgallery #galleryowner
Do you believe in art for everyone? Great, we want to meet you. We’re hiring a Saturday Sales Coordinator! As summer approaches, there’s so much more foot traffic in the @eastvillagedsm. This is an entry-level position for someone who loves art and invites others to love it too. Learn about the position on the website!
So, what are you getting mom? My email inbox is full of that question … so here are the gallery’s suggestions if you still need an original idea! We’ve picked out ten pieces of art, all under $500—ready for local pickup, or we’re happy to send a digital gift card if there’s not enough time to ship before Sunday.
A few snapshots from the gallery today as we prepare for our big anniversary show this week. From installing and leveling to sorting and planning—we’ve been busy! I’ve had this installation vision in my head for a while, so it’s a dream to see it all come to life. We’re celebrating six years with one piece from every artist we represent. Opening this Friday—I can’t wait to share it with you!
It may seem old school, but trust me—it’s intentional. Letting a piece of art take center stage in the living room brings the home’s (and the family’s) personality forward. It’s a thoughtful way to spark conversation and create warmth. Maybe save the big, black TV for another wall … Original painting by @elsielarson and still available!
Let the charming Mr. Puddles and Moe introduce you to our newest artist, @trevormikula. 🐾 Based in Massachusetts, Trevor is a self-taught artist of 20+ years with a palette knife and a singular mission—to make people happy. From every day objects to pets with personality, his vivid imagination brings each subject to life. We’re excited to bring Trevor on board!
This is nothing but an appreciation post for the artists we work with every day. They’re truly an extension of the gallery team, and I hope they always feel that way. We’re so grateful for the creativity they bring to the world—and for the invitation to play a small part in sharing it. It’s been a week of highs and lows over here as we navigate some big changes, and if I’m being honest—sitting with the art on these walls has been my happy place.
Can you spot the tea kettle? 👀 This painted abstract kitchen interior by @daisyfaith is titled “Heart of the Home,” and it’s so true—the kitchen is where we all end up spending the most time (for better or for worse). It’s where family gathers and friends are welcomed in. 🍋✨ #artgallery #affordableart #interiorpaintings
We currently represent seven artists outside of the US, and @joykinna is one of them. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Joy creates beautiful neutral paintings framed in raw wood. Her work is the accumulation of feelings, memories, landscape, subconscious and conscious thoughts that form into colors and shapes. More to come Wednesday. 🤎
It’s the best hearing an artist talk about their inspiration firsthand. @angelachrusciakiblehm shares how fashion has always been her muse—recalling the joy of dressing up as a little girl and the feeling of glamour it gave her. Her latest work captures that feeling, featuring painted wooden assemblages adorned with oversized bows and ribbons. The full collection is now available!
TOMORROW 🎀 bows from @angelachrusciakiblehm—nine new works! Each hand-painted wood piece is carefully assembled into playful bow and ribbon shapes that feel like a party. Based in Georgia, Angela was the very first artist to show on the gallery walls when we opened *almost* six years ago—and her work has been a fan favorite ever since.
We’re saying goodbye to eight smalls by @aneeshahstudio today. 👋🏼 Anee’s painting style—whether in florals or landscapes—evokes emotion and tells a story. I especially love seeing them side-by-side, knowing the heart and talent behind each one. Three landscapes are still hanging around, waiting for the right home.
If you’ve purchased from us before, you already know. The art world can be incredibly wasteful and that’s why we choose to use recycled packaging whenever possible—to help reduce that impact. Of course, the safety of the artwork comes first. Every box, bubble wrap, and corner is carefully considered. When we reuse materials, we let you know with a recycled sticker on the outside—so you’re not surprised by the *prelove* your package has seen on its second journey. It’s a small, intentional choice we make every day to remind Mother Earth that she’s the queen she is. 🌎👑🌿
We had it scheduled to share @aneeshahstudio’s work today, but it feels serendipitous that it falls on Earth Day. Based in Boston, Anee creates soothing landscapes and florals that stir emotion through rich, dark tones and vintage frames. A scientist turned artist, she draws inspiration from the quiet beauty and calm of nature. Her newest collection of florals drop tomorrow—come back then to see all nine new smalls! 🌿🥀
Happy Easter weekend, friends! This is their time to shine—the iconic bunny paintings by @huntslonem. Vibrant, instantly recognizable and full of charm, these adored bunnies are hand-painted and set in vintage frames sourced from Parisian brocantes. Each one is unique and full of personality. A treasure for any art lover, they deserve the spotlight today—and every day.
East Coast artist @sarina.angell sent us her newest collection for the Eclectic Blooms show—and with just one piece left, it’s only right we give it a feed moment. This neutral piece is crafted from sewn polyester moire, forming sculptural flower bouquets that feel both delicate and dimensional. Sarina works with a lot of textiles, creating both fine art and wearable art—which is so much fun.
Not real butterflies 🚨 if you can believe it. A nature-loving artist working primarily in watercolors, @aghartpainting creates cruelty free taxidermy from painted paper. She hand-paints each butterfly and forms the paper to mimic a realistic formation. Each one is then framed in a shadow box. So incredibly detailed, you can’t believe it’s painted and not an actual butterfly. 🦋
New loops and boxes by @emksnyder🪡🧵 drop this Wednesday! Each piece is made with brushed paint and hand-embroidery on canvas. She sees color combinations as a game, with the aim to make as many variations as possible within a limited color palette. It’s a playful spirit that Emily says allows her to be herself, let go of perfectionism and make room for more happy accidents. That’s always the goal, right?
Eclectic Blooms is a vibrant celebration of floral inspiration through the lens of seven distinct artists working across mixed media. From bold abstractions to delicate textures, the exhibition explores the endless ways flowers can be reimagined through paint, collage, textile and sculpture. This fresh and layered collection invites viewers to experience the beauty of blooms in both familiar and unexpected forms. 🌺
📌 Team picks are in! This week, the team is sharing the pieces that made us take a second look. From dreamy color palettes to quirky style and whimsical charm, there’s something that caught each of our eyes. Bonus: Mention the favorite piece you see and snag 10% off.
🌸 Sara + @mrgiusti – That chef’s kiss color combo
🌈 Lily + @ettavee – Happy colors and rich dimension
😎 Liz + @suzy.lindow – Style and humor in every brushstroke
🌿 Tina + @alexandra.ackerman – Imaginative and lovely pattern play
It’s all in the details, and we’re (always) happy to share them with you. #artgallery
There’s a jazzy feel to @rockyreedart’s latest collection that is truly original. His newest pair, titled Figures No. 1 and 2, are painted on canvas with gestural paint strokes—creating movement in the figures that you can see and almost feel. The paint layers give it a texture that adds to the visual motion. Based in Iowa (one of the closest artists to the gallery!), Rocky’s newest collection can be found on the website. #figureart #figurative #figurativeartist
Introducing you to @noshii, the newest artist represented at the gallery—and debuting in this Friday’s show! Based in Richardson, Texas, Nosheen creates pieces from wood, cotton fiber and beads, drawing inspiration from Pakistan’s rich history of pigment dyeing and embroidery. Her Pakistani heritage deeply influences her artistic vision, particularly in her use of color, pattern and texture. Once a past lead watch designer with Fossil, Nosheen has channeled her creativity in all kinds of ways, and we’re thrilled to share her fine art with you. Coming soon!
New work by seven artists in this week’s upcoming show, including @jenna_brownlee, @marcyvreeland and @brittanysmithstudio! I know it might seem “expected” to have a flower as the subject, but I’m amazed by the million different ways a flower can be stylized and executed in the world of an artist. These three pieces here—all florals, all different artists and mediums, but representing something we all visually know. 🌺 Join presale on the website and opening this Friday!
This feels like a place where I want to be—handpicked sunflowers and @aneeshahstudio’s painted landscape to enjoy. Anee Shah is a scientist turned artist who left her decade-long corporate job to pursue her creative path and to stay at home with her littles. The charm of an unhurried, simple life is the catalyst behind her work (and you can feel that here). Based in Boston but truly an old soul of the universe, Anee is self-taught and creates work that evokes a sense of calm and inspires you to pause.
Up close and personal with a few of @haneens_haven’s art picks 👀 She described her design style as whimsical, eclectic and story-telling in last week’s live chat, and you can feel it in the collection she curated. These pieces are high contrast, rich colors and full of thoughtful detail. 10% off her favorites this month!
How it started vs. how it’s going 📦✨ It’s incredible to see the lifecycle of these creations—from the artist’s studio, wherever that may be in the world, to the gallery, and then onto you, where they’ll be cherished forever. We’re so lucky to work with such beautiful art every day and I am grateful. #artgallery #buyoriginalart
The cutest birdies you’ll see today 🪺 Flying into the gallery and back to you, this collection by @elianabernard goes live this Friday! Each one is $150 and a darling stand-alone piece or a fun addition to a gallery wall. Based in Texas, Eliana creates unique tile designs handcrafted using custom clays and glazes. Truly hand-made, each and every one.
Almost a decade ago, I met @haneens_haven through the @betterhomesandgardens Stylemaker event. I immediately became a fan of her warm, charming demeanor and her incredible style. I feel lucky to know her and learn from her regularly—she’s a great follow. She’s curated a collection of her favorites from the gallery, and you can really see her original style and design inspiration shine through her picks. Enjoy the collection and get 10% off any of her picks!
Lush, abstract botanicals 🌿🌸 by @neicyfrey are dropping at just the right time with the spring sunshine this week. Neicy, based in Spokane, Washington, is best known for her large-scale paintings, so it’s a joy to share this series of smaller canvases with you. Going live on Wednesday, April 2, nine new works will be available, all under $500.
From the kitchen table to scotch tape to persimmons, @bekahworleyco is the queen of turning everyday objects into vibrant, dynamic paintings. I’ve never dreamed of a tape roll calling my attention, but after seeing Bekah’s rendition, I might be convinced I need this in my own home. And her painted frames are the cherry on top. 🍒
Mailchimp is down, but that’s not stopping us from sharing pretty art. @elsielarson’s newest collection is now live on the website, with poppy bouquets starting at $710. Her textured paint strokes are folk-art inspired and I love getting in close. Between the warm weather and Elsie’s new pieces, I’m telling the world I’m ready for springtime to stay.
Why settle for one bunny when you can have ten? 🐰💖 Bright pink, with furry friends crowded in, Pink Hutch is the largest @huntslonem canvas we’ve ever displayed at the gallery—measuring 30 x 30 inches. Since 1977, Hunt has been featured in over 350 exhibitions at prestigious galleries and museums worldwide and we’re proud to be one of ‘em. 🥂
You can find me running around the gallery this week with a long list of deadlines to hit. But first—inspire the next generation. It was lovely to have a group of high school students in yesterday to share my journey as a gallery owner. I’ll never say no to the chance to influence a current (or future) art lover. #artgallery #galleryowner #gallerist #artlover
Inspired by folk art, @elsielarson is a third-generation artist who grew up creating alongside her mother and grandmother. We started as internet friends and became real friends after meeting at the @ettavee creative retreat a couple of years ago. It’s been so exciting to watch Elsie’s work evolve as she continues to perfect her fine art career, especially after spending so much time in the design world. Her latest collection—featuring this stunning large moth canvas—will be available this Friday, March 28 at 10am CT. Be sure to check out the preview in tomorrow’s newsletter!
I’m so excited to share that we’ve just opened our 51st show! Each time we set up a new exhibition, it’s a fresh experience—one that brings together amazing artists and unique pieces of art. It’s hard to compare one show to the next because every single one has its own vibe and energy. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to share these one-of-a-kind works with all of you. Our newest show, Art of the Ordinary, is now up, and I’d love for you to take a look. Show number 51, here we go! #artgallery
If I did my math right, this marks the opening of my 51st show at the gallery. When I saw that number, I thought—wow, that’s a lot! But then I realized, each show is so unique, filled with incredible talent and original art, that no show is ever the same. And that’s why I stopped counting—there’s no comparison from show to show. Every new opening brings its own excitement and it’s an honor to share it with my in-person and online friends. If you haven’t yet, hop on the website and take a look at the newest collection, Art of the Ordinary. Show number 51, baby! #artgallery #gallerist
Art doesn’t get more fun than this. Florida-based artist @hayleysheldon creates wall installations focusing on tactility and color. Utilizing a catalog of shapes, she sews directly into wood frames using the fibers to create a translucent color field effect. And her newest collection is released this week! Live on March 26, 10am CT, five new installations full of organic fibers and shapes. The full preview will be sent in tomorrow’s newsletter. Hop on the list!
One of my favorite shows—and I know I say that every time—but there are so many moments in every day that each artist has turned into a colorful expression of wonder. It’s just a really fun collection to share. Art of the Ordinary features eight artists from around the world (including @monicajenjo from Spain!), celebrating the beauty of the so-called ordinary. Enjoy the views, and please tell me: which piece resonates as your most “every day” experience?
She was introduced over the holidays and we’re excited to share an even bigger collection next week. Based in Texas, @tessabrownart is an impressionist artist painting clouds, landscapes and other nature inspired pieces. Five new skyscapes—full of emotion and depth with each one framed in gold—will be released on March 24 at 10am CT! See the preview in tomorrow’s newsletter.
Presale was emailed out this morning and my goodness—you guys really love this show. And we see why! Art of the Ordinary features 8+ artists that transform every day objects into moments of inspiration opening this Friday. @monicajenjo is one of the featured artists who paints hyperrealistic bows and ribbons on wood panel. They sit slightly off the wall creating a brilliant shadow effect. This is now the last piece available (the other six sold through presale!) so send us a DM to snag it before it’s released to the public in two days. And learn more about Mónica in this week’s “artist spotlight” on the blog!
We recently asked @jenniferallevato, “Did you always want to be an artist?” She truthfully told us, “Yes and no. I wanted to be an artist the same way little kids say they want to be a princess or a superhero—it sounded amazing, but I didn’t think it was an actual option.” And now after about a year (almost to the date!) of representing her at the gallery, we can say it’s been a joy to see her work evolve and share it with the world. Her still life paintings are full of thoughtful colors, composition and shadows. We’re so glad you pursued art as an actual option, Jennifer. 🎨💫 Available at the gallery, Still Life with Vintage Pitcher, 24 x 24 in.
The art just keeps coming through the doors … and we can’t wait to share it with you soon. The next group show, Art of the Ordinary, is right around the corner, featuring new work by @bekahworleyco, @monicajenjo, @gina_julian and more. This show is STACKED with incredible pieces that transform everyday objects into vibrant, dynamic art you’ll want to hang on your walls. It’s so fun to see the personality and originality of each piece. Join our presale for first dibs on this collection before the show opens next Friday, March 21!
It’s time to formally introduce @emily_furr, the newest addition to our artist roster! Her work is cheerful, one-of-a-kind and dynamic—everything we’re looking for and excited to share about here. Emily is an oil painter based in Charleston, South Carolina, and her work centers around feelings of sentimentality and play. Her paintings often demonstrate a unique, sculptural approach to the medium, combining shaped substrates and painted frames to express her own narratives of the subject. Her new collection will debut in next week’s group show, Art of the Ordinary! Enjoy the peek at what’s to come. 🍔🖍️
Gallerist turned snake charmer. 🐍✨ This new collection of sculptures by @paige.barnes.dorsey is absolutely incredible. It took the artist 60+ hours to place each pearl and diamond, the metallic scales are individually placed thumb tacks in layers and the malachite pattern is painted with celery. I can’t get over the thought and time that went into each piece here. Eight new snakes are now available to purchase online. #artgallery #buyartonline #snakeart #yearofthesnake #sculpture
An Iowa-based artist (yay!), @annabflickinger creates incredibly detailed compositions with fine line archival ink. Often fruit or still life arrangements, her newest collection will be shared next week. The upcoming series includes cherries, pears—and a fun mushroom moment. 🍒🍐🍄🟫 The preview is emailed out tomorrow and it all goes live next week on March 19 at 10am CT.
It’s finally here—the week of @paige.barnes.dorsey’s online release of her new snake sculptures! 🐍💎 After Paige personally dropped them off at the gallery (such a treat to catch up in person!), every client who’s seen them has literally gasped. The snakes dripping in pearls, coiled together, wrapped in metallic gold paint … honestly, you think you’ve found your favorite, and then you see the next one. This collection of eight new snakes drops this Wednesday at 10am CT, and I’m already obsessed. Here’s some up-close views of the intricate details.
We love sharing new things our artists are up to—and @nnnnnate’s been busy! BIG COLOR is a series of artworks that explores @pantone’s “color of the year” concept by pairing each one with its exact opposite color in a circular gradient. Beginning in the year 2000, Pantone began naming a color of the year. A color chosen based on many global factors, that is meant to encompass an overall feeling for the year ahead. Collectors are drawn to the vibrant colors, while others appreciate the personal significance of the years featured in the pieces. Many choose prints tied to meaningful dates, such as a child’s birth year or a wedding anniversary, adding a deeper layer of meaning.
The creation process behind @carriegillenstl’s paintings is unlike any other. Before she even picks up a brush, she twists and knots her fabric canvas from behind, creating stunning, rippled textures on the front. Once the fabric is perfectly shaped, she adds layers of gesso to hold the texture in place. Then, she carefully paints over each wrinkle, bringing her unique color combinations to life with incredible precision. Five new pieces are now available in today’s collection—and only three are left! Take a closer look and imagine the meticulous process behind each one.
Wow, this batch of @paige.barnes.dorsey snake sculptures is absolutely incredible. I can’t get over the variety of materials and finishes—and details. Please scroll through and drool over each and every one. The green malachite, the shimmering scales, the pearl-drenched forms. There’s one even titled Lady Whistledown for the @bridgertonnetflix fans. They all go live March 12 at 10am CT. Set your alarm, friends!
This @betsyenzensberger pop is only 10 inches tall but weighs a solid 10x more than you’d expect. Crafted entirely from marble (yep, marble!), this beauty just arrived straight from her Palm Springs studio, and it’s a special one. Betsy has been experimenting with new materials beyond resin, and the whole team loves this new look and feel. Four new popsicle sculptures now available on the website!
After reading that we sold 57 pieces of art this month, do you wonder why people buy art? Let me give you my top four reasons why buying original art is worth your interest.
1️⃣ One-of-a-kind: Original art is a singular creation. You’ll own something truly unique—no one else will have the same piece! A personal touch to your collection or space.
2️⃣ An emotional connection: Original art lets you connect deeply with the artist’s story, emotions, and intentions. It’s more than decor; it’s a reflection of you and the atmosphere you want to create.
3️⃣ An investment: Yes, original art can appreciate in value! Over the past 5 years, 60% of our artists have raised their prices as their careers progress—making it both a visual treasure and a smart investment.
4️⃣ Affordable: Art isn’t just for millionaires! We offer pieces ranging from $150 to $15,000, making it accessible for everyone.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just starting out, we’re here to show you why we’re so passionate about art. Follow along—art-loving is contagious, and we’re here for it.✨ #ArtCollectors #ArtLovers #SupportArtists
We often get asked the “why” behind buying art. Why buy art? Why is it valuable? Why do collectors keep buying more? I’m here to tell you, buying original art IS …
1. One-of-a-kind: It’s a singular creation, ensuring you own something truly unique. No one else will have the same piece, making it a personal and distinct addition to your collection or space.
2. An emotional connection: Owning original art allows you to form a deeper connection with the piece. It’s a way to support your values—whether it’s the artist’s background, the emotions the work evokes, or the atmosphere you create in your space. Each piece becomes more than just decor; it’s a reflection of your personality, interests, and the narrative you want to tell through your surroundings.
3. An investment: Original art can appreciate in value over time, especially if the artist’s career progresses. Since opening the gallery five years ago, 60% of our artists have increased their prices (therefore value). Purchasing original art can be both an aesthetic choice and a smart investment.
4. Affordable (you heard me): It’s not just for the millionaires. We work hard to make art accessible and affordable with price tags from $150 - $15,000.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to it all—welcome! Follow along and we’ll show you why we love art so much. Careful, we hear it’s contagious. #artgallery #artlover
Well, it looks like I’m naturally drawn to warm, sunshine-yellow works this week. I blame the “false spring” weather. These two paintings by @bethanymabeeart are so lovely—titled You Were and Garden Song—full of fluid movement and rich contrast. Bethany loves creating BIG, and you can see why—the larger the canvas, the more opportunity for your eye to follow the paint trails. I love seeing these two together. ☀️🌱
Check out these layered details 👀🧵 Artist @anna__michele__, based in San Francisco, draws inspiration from traditional crafts to create wrapped panels using reclaimed materials. She describes the process as meditative, a true state of flow. Each panel is wrapped in rows of vibrant colors—sometimes carefully planned, other times guided by intuition and the fibers at hand. Her new collection drops this Friday, and the preview will be hitting inboxes tomorrow morning!
Next month’s group show is all about artists who transform everyday, seemingly ordinary objects into extraordinary works of art. One of these incredible artists is @gina_julian! She creates phenomenal trompe l’oeil paintings—also known as “trick of the eye”—that appear 3D when hung, even though they’re painted on completely flat canvas. Head to our blog to dive deeper into Gina’s work in her latest artist spotlight!
The gallery views are cheery today. 🌞 After a week of chilling temps in the negatives, I’m beyond grateful to be surrounded by all this bright, colorful art. It’s my daily dose of “happy light” that keeps me going. Happy Friday, friends! Wishing you a cozy weekend full of warmth and lots of color. #artgallery #artlovers
Taking a moment to dive deeper into a few pieces from our Vibrant Abstractions show, which opened last week. Today, we’re focusing on @sarahjaclynschwartz’s incredible mixed-media paintings! These works are bursting with energy and emotion—every brushstroke and texture tells a story. Sarah shared with us during a live chat that her paintings often reflect the music she’s listening to while she works, letting her current inspiration guide the creation. There are still three pieces available from her collection! Swipe through to get a closer look at the stunning details.
We’re thrilled to bring you brand-new work by the amazing @katiecraigart, the artist behind those iconic, bold stripes we all know and love. 🌈 Based in Texas, Katie was one of the first artists we partnered with when our gallery opened, and we’re so excited to share her latest creations with you. This release features six vibrant new pieces—all the same size and price. Swipe to get a sneak peek and plan your purchase ahead of time! Live on February 21 at 10am CT.
Enjoy the gallery views of our newest show, Vibrant Abstractions! 🎨 Fun facts about the artists: @akhardeman.art is known her sell out shows (only one left!), @sarahjaclynschwartz is the newest addition to the gallery from this bunch, we painted with @ettavee in Strasbourg two years ago, @michellearmas007 hosts popular paint classes (including one in Des Moines last year!), and both @the.allisonjames and @vickyreddish visited last May for our anniversary (we almost convinced them to move here!). This group of women artists is special in so many ways, and we’re lucky to have such meaningful connections with them.
