Standing out is the new fitting in

I am thrilled to bring you our next show, Standing Out is the New Fitting In. These are works that are large, bold, and energetic. Tina and I installed the show this week and there was an instant wave of positivity that swept through the gallery. Whether you walk in and see Kristi Kohut’s stunning crystal-infused pieces or Stephanie Henderson’s glossy color bombs, a smile will creep across your face.

So why the name of the show? Well, first and foremost, these are pieces that command your attention and stand out compared to neutral works. It’s also, a show that feels very “me” as a curator. When I was beginning this gallery, many people had ideas for what this place could be. All of their comments and advice were well-meaning and it was easy to see their vision but it wasn’t the gallery of beauty and inclusivity that I was trying to create. After a year of the gallery being open, I feel we have truly hit our stride. This is the gallery I always wanted to create and a show that represents that. I’m happy to say we’re a gallery that stands out rather than fits in with the standard gallery mold.

Another reason this is an exciting show is that we are introducing several new artists. I think you will truly love the work of Roma Osowo, Jessi Raulet, Stephanie Henderson, Jenna Brownlee and Fares Micue. Additionally, you’ll see the works of favorites Kristi Kohut, Katie Craig, Betsy Enzensberger and Shannon Coppage.

Jessi Raulet, Moonlight in Montmartre, Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 40 in, $5160 ($516/mo)

We’ll continue to have limited hours where visitors are able to see the show. Additionally, you are able to see everything in the gallery from the comfort of your own home with our show page live on September 11. I hope you love the show as much as I do, and stay healthy and safe, friends.
