FARES MICUE

Las Palmas, Spain

Currently based in Las Palmas, Spain, Fares Micue is a Spanish born, self-taught fine art/conceptual self portrait photographer. She started photography back in 2009. At the beginning, she took it as just a way to have “nice pictures” to share in her profile without putting much thought into the photography process, but after 6 years into this hobby she came to the realization that photography was the perfect medium to share her thoughts, ideas and perception of the reality with others and from that moment on she took a different approach to the way she created her images, putting extra attention in all the elements to include in the final image like location, colors, props, feeling, story and meaning, creating a final image in alignment with her original idea.

"As I self portrait artist I use the observation of my surroundings, human interactions and my own feelings to create beautiful conceptual images. My work is full of symbolism, every element in my compositions has a purpose, from the colors to the props to the body language, and the combination of all this elements creates the final conceptual image. I am a highly positive person and this positivity often reflects on my work delivering images with a strong message on personal growth, reflection, self worth and overcoming obstacles. My images are characterized for simple backgrounds, saturated colors and strong conceptual load with a highly aesthetic charm. I want my work to be viewed as a whole story condensed in one frame."
