Who is Haneen Matt?

Almost a decade ago I met Haneen through the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event. I immediately became a fan of her warm, charming demeanor and her incredible style. I feel lucky to know her and learn from her regularly. I’m delighted that she curate da selection of works by our artists, and I’m sure you’ll appreciate her perspective as much as I do.

"I love designing a space, bringing it to life, and feeling something when I walk into it, completed."

Haneen has always considered herself an artist. With a photography degree from the University of Toledo, her love of art initially started with fashion and quickly shifted to a love of interior design, while home raising her kids. She started her blog, Haneen's Haven, and Instagram page @haneens_haven , in 2015 documenting all things "home." Since then, her work has been published in Better Homes & Gardens, HGTV, Real Simple, Hour Detroit, and online on Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, etc.

"There's nothing like the way a room makes you feel when you fill it with pieces you love, that tell your story. Start with the art!"

"I think sometimes people feel intimidated when choosing art because they think it needs to have a deep meaning that resonates with something super personal within them. The truth is- you can choose something purely because it makes you happy when you look at it! Having a painting of a horse doesn't have to mean you rode horses as a child. Maybe you just find their coats beautiful! Maybe you find the way their body moves as they gallop, mystifying. Hang art you love, and everything else falls into place."

A fearless mix of patterns, colors, and textures that turns comfort into a conversation starter.

Last week, I gave our Gallery Insiders an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what my walls have been up to. Since releasing my book Art For Everyone, I’ve been prioritizing projects in my own home—using it as both a canvas and a testing ground for ideas I share in the book. One of my favorite recent projects has been completely transforming my kids’ playroom. With the help of an exciting new collaboration with a wallpaper company (stay tuned for the name reveal), the space came to life in a whole new way. As part of the Gallery Insiders exclusive, I hosted a photoshoot right in my home to showcase the new wallpaper designs. While the photographer captured the bigger picture, I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos myself—little glimpses into the DIY projects I’ve been pouring into every corner, tweaking and perfecting until they felt just right. From the dining room to the living room, the kids’ spaces, and even the mudroom, I realized how much inspiration hides in everyday details. And yes, I’ll admit— Pinterest and Facebook Marketplace have been my secret weapons! Today, I’m excited to share a closer look at my home and the inspiration behind it all. In Art For Everyone , you’ll find more photos of my spaces styled with artwork from our gallery, showing how art can live side by side with family life. What started as saved pins and mood boards has turned into real, lived-in rooms—proof that inspiration doesn’t have to stay digital. With a little creativity (and some persistence), those “someday ideas” can become the backdrop of everyday life.
