Inside My Home With A Recent Collaboration

Liz Lidgett • August 25, 2025

Last week, I gave our Gallery Insiders an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what my walls have been up to. Since releasing my book Art For Everyone, I’ve been prioritizing projects in my own home—using it as both a canvas and a testing ground for ideas I share in the book. One of my favorite recent projects has been completely transforming my kids’ playroom. With the help of an exciting new collaboration with a wallpaper company (stay tuned for the name reveal), the space came to life in a whole new way.

As part of the Gallery Insiders exclusive, I hosted a photoshoot right in my home to showcase the new wallpaper designs. While the photographer captured the bigger picture, I couldn’t resist snapping a few photos myself—little glimpses into the DIY projects I’ve been pouring into every corner, tweaking and perfecting until they felt just right. From the dining room to the living room, the kids’ spaces, and even the mudroom, I realized how much inspiration hides in everyday details. And yes, I’ll admit—Pinterest and Facebook Marketplace have been my secret weapons!

Today, I’m excited to share a closer look at my home and the inspiration behind it all. In Art For Everyone, you’ll find more photos of my spaces styled with artwork from our gallery, showing how art can live side by side with family life. What started as saved pins and mood boards has turned into real, lived-in rooms—proof that inspiration doesn’t have to stay digital. With a little creativity (and some persistence), those “someday ideas” can become the backdrop of everyday life.

Entryway with Art

Sentimental Welcoming's with Style:

The entryway sets the tone for a home, and I wanted mine to feel both personal and inviting. Inspired by a Pinterest photo, I layered design with meaning by incorporating my husband’s grandfather’s brimmed hat–an item so special to us.  While it may look styled, it’s intentionally placed as a symbol of warmth and welcome, greeting every guest who walks through the front door with the same generosity his grandfather did.

To balance sentiment with design, I hand painted a light blue gingham pattern that extends from wall to ceiling, creating a sense of calm and freshness the moment you step inside. The pattern feels classic yet airy, making the small space feel more expansive. It was a weekend of meticulously painting on a ladder but well worth it. To ground the look, I paired the mural with matching wood accents that echo the tones of my floorboards. The result is a thoughtful mix of charm and modernity—an entryway that functions as both a design statement and a deeply personal welcome.

Branching into Bolder Dining Rooms:

For me, a dining room should always feel like the stage for a gathering—whether it’s a Tuesday night family meal or an evening of wine with friends, the space is designed to carry the energy of a dinner party every day of the week. My dining room reflects the philosophy that walls are more than just a backdrop—they tell a story. This botanical wallpaper, alive with birds, butterflies, and blooming branches, sets a whimsical yet refined tone that instantly makes the space feel curated.

The arched doorways frame the room beautifully, offering just the right amount of separation between the dining, kitchen, and living areas while still allowing each space to breathe with its own personality. Although arches are trending now, these architectural details were part of the home long before the trend—and they add timeless character and charm that I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Artwork is layered throughout: from framed pieces hung between leafy vines to sculptural accents tucked into built-in niches, every corner feels thoughtfully considered. A natural wood dining table anchors the room, paired with fresh white chairs and green-striped cushions that echo the foliage on the walls. Overhead, a modern globe pendant adds a playful contrast, bridging old-world mural details with a more contemporary touch. Even the soft blush drapery and woven rug ground the space, making it both inviting and elegant.

Polo Ralph Lauren Inspired bedroom

A Boy’s Room with Polo Varsity Spirit:

For my son’s room, I wanted a design that felt both classic and full of personality. I started with a Ralph Lauren inspired color palette, giving the walls a bold, tailored look that feels timeless. To layer in character, I created a gallery wall mixing vintage pennants, playful prints, and framed keepsakes—making the space feel collected and personal rather than overly styled. The different frame finishes—black, gold, red, and wood—add to the layered, lived-in feeling, perfect for a space that should evolve as my son grows.

One of my favorite features is the pair of vintage red stadium seats from the old St. Louis Cardinal’s stadium. They nod to our love of the team and bring a touch of nostalgia, while also serving as functional seating. The overall design blends sporty energy with refined details, creating a room that feels distinctly his yet still flows with the style of our home.

Hospitality that Glows:

When I was pulling together the design for our guest room, I knew I wanted it to feel cheerful, welcoming, and whimsical. The starting point was the green-vined wallpaper—a pattern that instantly brings life into the room and feels like a gentle nod to the patio just outside the window. Pairing the wallpaper against the soft yellow wainscoting, set the stage for a space that feels both fresh and cozy.

I layered in a thrifted quilted comforter that has a playful mix of pink, green, and yellow. There’s something about quilts that feels timeless and nostalgic, like they carry a story in every stitch. Paired with the wallpaper, it gives the room a layered, collected feel, as though it has evolved over time rather than being pulled together in one afternoon.

Details are what makes a room styled and perfectly curated, and for me, that meant adding matching side lamps from the comforter and thrifted nick-nacks throughout the room. The yellow gingham curtains frame the windows perfectly—bringing in a little farmhouse charm while echoing the happy color scheme throughout the space.

Altogether, this guest room feels like an extension of our home’s personality: welcoming, lighthearted, and full of character. It makes me happy to know that when friends or family come to stay, they’re wrapped in a space that feels thoughtful and full of joy.

Justice For Orange

The science behind the most “slept on” color. Orange is one of those colors that always seems to spark debate. It’s bold, it’s energetic, it’s everywhere in nature—and yet, when it comes to personal preference, orange often gets the cold shoulder.
