Rachel's paintings are devoted to the exploration of line and color as a language for the human body; its' memories, responses, and sensations. She seeks to unify lived-experiences in the body with a synesthetic use of line and color, through what she calls her Soma-Line Method. While each painting is strictly abstract, each mark and color expresses (or discovers) a highly specific sensation or moment in time. Rachel and her family live in Northwest Arkansas where she holds workshops, exhibits, and works as a teaching artist at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and was recently Artist in Residence at Arkansas Children's Northwest.
