Chasing Paper X Liz Lidgett Gallery + Design
A behind-the-scenes look at how a creative vision—and a single email—sparked a dream collaboration with nine artists to design a vibrant wallpaper collection.
How This Collaboration Happened
It all started with a total fangirl moment. I wrote Chasing Paper an email because I’ve always loved their art-designed wallpapers and thought—how amazing would it be to see our artists’ work on walls across the country? Luckily, they agreed! A year later, that wild idea turned into a full-blown collaboration featuring a colorful lineup of fourteen incredible designs. This collection celebrates bright, bold, and personality-packed patterns from some of our artists. Each design tells its own story, blending art, color, and creativity in a way that feels right at home—literally.
Kevin’s vibrant painting transformed directly into wallpaper, now featured in my own powder room alongside Angie Hueton’s delicate silk butterfly works. The pairing mimics the fluttering movement and whimsy feel found in Kevin’s design. The wallpaper comes in five stunning color ways—proof that one painting really can become a whole new world.
Michele’s playful, clean-lined florals and color-blocked iconography bring a fresh twist to the collection. Her designs come in three color ways, plus two feathered marble patterns that balance fun with sophistication. I personally installed her work into my staircase hallway leading up to my kids’ playroom, matching perfectly with the Watercolor Stripes.
Bekah brought her pop-art edge to two vibrant wallpaper colorways featuring abstract florals. I even installed one in my sister’s dining room alongside Bekah’s Butter & Roses painting. Bekah-on-Bekah—can you name a better duo? Her designs light up a room with energy and joy.
Paige’s signature snakes slither onto wallpaper in two striking colorways. The CEO of Chasing Paper loved it so much she installed the dark blue version in her own bathroom—and it looks incredible! (Now we just need to add a sculpture to complete the look.)
Anee’s florals are cottage-core perfection—romantic, timeless, and right on trend. She created three floral colorways and a stunning mural that looks like an antique painting coming to life. It’s painterly, soft, and makes your space feel like art itself.
Kristen’s wallpaper features one of her cyanotypes arranged in a perfect grid. This design mirrors the look of her original cyanotypes, some of which we’ve sold right here in the gallery. It’s calm, structured, and beautifully familiar.
The Mural Collaboration
We also created a trio of murals featuring Anee Shah, Racheal Jackson, and Aly Ytterberg.
Racheal Jackson’s design was inspired by her personal journey of self-expression. As she puts it: “The first time I put stripes on my wall it was a statement to myself that what’s on the inside is worth looking at… Bold design in my home makes me feel bolder in my life. It’s all connected.” Her mix-and-match stripe patterns—drawn from street signs in her photo albums—let you build your own design story.
Aly Ytterberg’s mural captures the nostalgia of the American Midwest. Her work draws inspiration from everyday landscapes—old barns, open fields, and that strange déjà vu of places that feel like memories. The perfect mural that’s structured yet timeless.
After helping curate the entire collection, I found myself daydreaming in my kids’ playroom, wishing it had more color and life. So, I designed one! Watercolor Stripes was born from that moment—a rainbow-inspired stripe pattern that’s now all over our playroom walls. It’s cheerful, soft, and exactly what I had imagined.
After that? The rest is history! What started as a fan email turned into a full-circle collaboration filled with creativity, community, and color. From paintings to wallpapers, from studio to home—it’s been a joy to watch these artists’ visions live beyond the canvas.
