REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
Artwork design for a public mural to be created on an exterior wall. The wall is approximately 80’ tall and 132’ wide. Every inch of the wall does not need to be painted.
BACKGROUND
This mural will be located on a building in downtown Marshalltown, Iowa, and is sponsored by the Marshall County Arts & Cultural Alliance (MCACA). This mural will be seen daily by large crowds of people who visit the downtown district. The wall is the most visual mural location in Marshalltown’s downtown.

DESCRIPTION
● Location: The mural will be situated on the west wall of a building in downtown Marshalltown.
● Objective: The mural should provide a wow-factor, creating a significant impact as you enter Marshalltown’s downtown. The mural will act as a destination and monument to the area.
TO CONSIDER
● Artist must feel comfortable working a boom lift and wearing a harness while working.
● Should have large scale mural experience.
● The selected artist will be asked to provide a 1-hour Q&A with local Marshall County Artists and be present for the ribbon cutting in celebration with the community of the new mural.
TIMELINE
● Deadline for proposals: Sunday, February 28 th at 5:00pm to hello@LizLidgett.com
● February/Early March: RFP review, initial interviews (if needed) with artist finalists
● March: Final artist and design selected and meet with Liz Lidgett to go over sketch, information from the client, timeline and budget.
● Weather dependent (May/June) Mural completed.
PAYMENT
$17,000 — 50% to be paid upon starting and 50% within 2 weeks of completion of the mural. This fee includes materials, artist fee, and any lodging while in Marshalltown. A lift will be provided.
