MÓNICA AJENJO

Valencia, Spain

Based in Valencia, Spain, Mónica Ajenjo is a hyperrealist artist. Graduated in law by the University of Valencia, she graduated in fine arts by the “Universidad politécnica de Valencia”, and graduated in History of Art by the UNED.

Currently all her works are bows and balloons that try to relate to our inner child and trigger memories of happiness, joy and hope. Is there anything more exciting than opening a beautifully wrapped present? They are positive omens of everything good that is to come. To her, objects such as bows and balloons are contemporary representations of the celebration of life.

Her inspiration draws from the pop art of the 1960s. Her colored bows and balloons transform an everyday object into a unique and unrepeatable piece by using a Renaissance pictorial technique impossible to mass-produce.

Her artwork can be seen around the world in private and public collections of the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, United Kingdom, Korea, México, Panama, Dominican Republic and more.
