Angela Chrusciaki Blehm -

Angela Chruskiaski Blehm

Angela’s home studio is located in Gainesville, Georgia overlooking the wooded Appalachian foothills. Angela received her BFA in Studio Arts at University of Houston. She's inspired by the clothes we wear or dream of wearing, the routines and patterns of life, our homes and the structures we live among, and the idea of color as antidote, comic side of sensuality, vintage signage and advertising, feminine traditions and roles, outsider art. She's interested in curiosity as muse, experimentation for discovery, supersizing the trivial to impart importance, manipulation of pattern, revealing the comedy of overwrought sexuality, materializing dreams and fantasies, finding beauty in the everyday, reveling in happiness. Her art and design has been featured in Domino Magazine, Architectural Digest/Clever online, Atlanta Magazine’s HOME, A Beautiful Mess, Larry’s List, Chairish, Wall Street Journal, Better Homes & Gardens DIY and Apartment Therapy.

How we would pair Angela’s newest series in the Poise show with wallpaper:

On the left:

I paired this bold, sculptural artwork with Schumacher’s Deconstructed Stripe wallpaper—a combination alive with movement, contrast, and a sharp modern edge. The legs’ candy-toned pinks and blues, bring a playful and glamorous energy with a nod to retro pop art. The black detailing and striped shoes offer a graphic or pop-art-like punch that ties effortlessly into the fragmented rhythm of the Deconstructed Stripe pattern.

Where the artwork is fluid and stylized, the wallpaper steps in with just enough structure—its subtle geometric lines create a backdrop that’s architectural but never overpowering. The two play off each other beautifully, letting color, shape, and attitude bounce around the space. It’s a pairing that leans into fashion and fun while still feeling curated and elevated—perfect for making a statement that doesn’t shout, but definitely sparkles.

On the right:

I paired this artwork with the Willa Check wallpaper to strike a balance between playful boldness and structure. The piece bursts with energy—sweeping strokes of color, pastel pops, and the bold lip motif that immediately grabs attention. It thrives on movement and spontaneity, with painterly textures and unexpected details like the lipstick woven into the design. Against the Willa Check wallpaper, all that dynamism shines even brighter, grounded by the soft, neutral grid that keeps the room feeling calm and cohesive.

The magic of this pairing is in the contrast: the wallpaper’s quiet order gives the artwork’s vibrancy room to take center stage, while the artwork injects personality and edge into the wallpaper’s classic design. Together, they create a look that’s modern and chic—structured yet expressive, polished yet playful—perfect for a space that feels curated but still full of creative life.

Brittany Atkinson -

Brittany is an Austin-based artist known for her abstract female portraits and figures. She loves to paint bright, colorful, confident women and hopes her work empowers and inspires others to be bold, daring, and fearless.

How we would pair Brittany's newest series in the Poise show with wallpaper:

Pairing this vivid, stylized portrait with the Buttercup wallpaper feels like a celebration of color confidence and playful nostalgia. The portrait’s saturated reds, cornflower blues, and warm browns are perfectly anchored by the Buttercup stripes, whose sunny yellow tone and classic pinstripe pattern echo the golden accents in the woman's collar. The effect is both charmingly Americana and softly modern, balancing bold contrasts with warmth.

The vertical lines in Buttercup pick up on details within the portrait—the striped shirt, the flow of the hair, even the symmetry in the face—building a rhythm that connects the artwork to its backdrop. Here, the wallpaper doesn’t just frame the piece; it joins the story, showing how pattern and portraiture can stand confidently side by side. The result is a pairing that feels bright, grounded, and delightfully self-assured.

On the right:

Pairing this striking abstract portrait with the Sina Stripe wallpaper is all about rhythm, contrast, and cohesion. The artwork’s bold geometry, expressive brushstrokes, and unconventional color blocking build a dynamic visual language that feels playful yet intentional. Sina Stripe, with its soft green palette and undulating vertical lines, steps in as a grounding pattern—mirroring the portrait’s vertical details, like the striped hair, while never competing with its complexity.

Where the portrait moves in bold angles and emotive shapes, the wallpaper flows with organic ease. Its wavy lines act as a counterpoint to the artwork’s sharper edges, while the wallpaper’s restrained palette provides calm balance, softly echoing the sage greens and neutrals within the piece. Together, they create a layered dialogue—energy meeting ease, structure meeting fluidity—where the wallpaper doesn’t just frame the art, but joins in the conversation.

Fares Micue -

Fares Micue art on wall

Fares Micue is a Spanish self-taught fine art and conceptual self-portrait photographer, originally from Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands.

She began her journey in photography in 2009, initially as a casual hobby aimed at capturing aesthetically pleasing images to share online, without delving deeply into the technical or artistic aspects. However, after six years of exploring photography informally, she came to recognize it as the ideal medium through which to express her thoughts, ideas, and unique perception of reality. This realization also allowed her to integrate her other passion—writing—into her creative work. From that point onward, she adopted a more deliberate and thoughtful approach to the artistic process, placing special emphasis on every component of the final image, including location, color palette, props, atmosphere, narrative, and symbolic meaning. The result is a body of work that is both visually captivating and conceptually rich.

Artist Statement:

“As a self-portrait artist, I draw inspiration from my environment, personal experiences, and personal growth to create striking conceptual imagery. My work is infused with symbolism—every element within my compositions is intentional and contributes to the overall message. Through the careful integration of these elements, I bring my ideas to life. I am an inherently optimistic person, and this outlook is often reflected in my photography, which conveys powerful messages of self-love, personal development, and empowerment. My aim is to inspire hope, encourage self-appreciation, and remind others to love, dream, and believe that anything is possible. My images frequently feature minimalistic backgrounds, vibrant colors, and recurring props such as flowers, plants, origami, and balloons. I aspire for each piece to be perceived as a complete story encapsulated within a single frame.”

- Fares Micue

Fares Micue work has been featured in a wide range of publications, including magazines and book covers. She has collaborated with esteemed interior designers to complement their curated spaces, and her artwork can be found in some of the world’s most prestigious hotels, such as the Mondrian Singapore Duxton and the Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid, with a global presence extending from the United States to Australia. Her pieces are also part of the permanent collections of renowned cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean.

How we would pair Fares' newest work in the Poise show with wallpaper:

Pairing this artwork with the Serallo Mosaic wallpaper brings harmony through color and rhythm. The vivid orange fish immediately draw the eye, their color amplified against the cool, tranquil blues of the background. The Serallo Mosaic picks up on those same orange tones within its intricate pattern, creating a seamless conversation between the piece and the space around it. The artwork feels less like a standalone object and more like a living part of the room.

The mosaic’s geometric precision provides a perfect counterbalance to the artwork’s dreamlike flow. While the fish and flowing fabric evoke softness, movement, and imagination, the structured repetition of the wallpaper keeps the space grounded. The result is multidimensional: playful yet sophisticated, bold yet balanced—a pairing that blends contemporary photography with bold patterning, making the room feel immersive, elevated, and full of personality.

Suzy Lindow -

suzy lindow sunglasses

Suzy Lindow (b. 1982) is a self-taught painter and collage artist with a penchant for quirk and color. Originally from Minnesota, she studied Psychology at NYU before living in and exploring the American Southwest for the decade following. She's since settled down with her husband and three children in Coastal Virginia, where she spends her non-studio time torturing her 18-year-old Persian cat with mini party hats.

She likes to create bold, lively pieces that infuse personality into a space, and her main influences include colorful vintage textiles, tribal artifacts, and folk art. Handmade artifacts and old things have always held wonder even from a very early age where she spent long, wondrous days being dragged along to countless estate sales and dusty antique stores with her mother, and these notes of inspiration continue to play a central role to her work.

The offbeat color combinations and playful marks that define her whimsical pieces have caught the eye of collectors from both within the United States and around the world. Her collaborations include Anthropologie, Slowdown Studio, Serena & Lily, and ArZully Walls. Suzy has had the honor of being featured on Design*Sponge, Domino, and HGTV, among other publications. She is also represented by Anne Irwin Fine Art (Atlanta, GA), Miller Gallery (Charleston, SC), and Florida Mining Gallery (Jacksonville, FL).

How we would pair Suzy's newest work in the Poise show with wallpaper:

On the left:

I paired this piece with a maroon and rust geometric wallpaper—creating a dynamic conversation between bold portraiture and structured pattern. The artwork itself is playful yet striking, with its exaggerated features—maroon lips, blue sunglasses, a yellow-toned face, and a sage green nose—that lean into a surreal, pop-art sensibility. These strong, saturated tones demand a backdrop that doesn’t compete but instead enhances their vibrancy. The wallpaper’s maroon and rust palette echoes the deep warmth of the lips and face tones, tying the two together in a cohesive color story while letting the unexpected hues, like the blue and sage, pop all the more vividly.

The geometric structure of the wallpaper adds an architectural rhythm that grounds the whimsical energy of the portrait. Where the artwork thrives on exaggerated forms and bold color blocking, the wallpaper introduces a sense of order and repetition. Together, they balance spontaneity with structure, personality with pattern. The result is a pairing that feels adventurous yet harmonious—perfect for a space looking to embrace color, quirk, and sophistication all at once.

On the right:

Pairing this bold artwork with the Weeping Pine wallpaper creates a layered dialogue between abstraction and nature. The artwork, with its saturated swaths of green framed by vibrant red and balanced with cool turquoise, feels both graphic and expressive. The brushstrokes in the central green shape carry a sense of texture and movement, which echoes the organic rhythm of the pine motifs in the wallpaper. Together, the two bring a fresh interplay between human-made abstraction and natural inspiration, each elevating the other’s energy.

The Weeping Pine wallpaper’s gentle, repeating botanical pattern acts as a soft counterpoint to the artwork’s bold, singular gestures. Where the painting demands attention with its intensity of color and form, the wallpaper provides a serene, grounding backdrop that still resonates with the same earthy palette. This pairing allows for a room that feels both daring and harmonious—inviting nature indoors through pattern while celebrating the unapologetic vibrancy of contemporary art. It’s the kind of combination that sparks conversation while remaining rooted in timeless, natural beauty.
