Fill your Zoom background with art

The kids are back in school, but many of us are not back in a corporate office setting which means that the Zoom calls will continue. In the last year, we have helped a number of people find a beautiful piece of art for the blank wall that sits behind them.

Since opening the gallery over two years ago, I have taken a lot of “test” photos and video to share how artwork would look in a variety of situations. One I have to consider frequently recently is how artwork would act as a Zoom background for an office.

I look for artwork that add visual interest without being too busy. Additionally, I usually head towards abstract unless it is clear what the object in the painting is. The art in your Zoom background should act as a compliment and not a distraction. There are plenty of situations where it is appropriate to purchase a piece of artwork where objects are open to interpretation but your office and Zoom background is usually not one of them.
